Current Sky user : How does it work?

Hi,

hopefully someone will know the correct answer for this (if there is one!). I've been with sky for 12 months (No cable in my area) and I was wondering if I were to cancel and then my fianc?were to have a new account in her name, whether she will be treated as a "new customer"? Is there a time delay that's needed?

Reasons are obvious - refer a friend, quidco and no installation fee for HD

Thanks,

JJ

Well no as its per address. The only way round it is to cancel it and when they ask why say you broke up and are moving out. Pay your final bill then get your fiancé to apply as a new customer. some people have had success and some haven't as sky check the electoral register.

If you leave sky, you have to wait 12 months before they class you as a new customer. Close your account and say you are moving to an area with cable. Your fiance could then just ring up and say she has just bought the house and moved in and would like to become a new sky customer..... as she has only just moved in, of course she will not be on electoral roll and therefore should be ok.

You should be able to.

The thing is, she's been living me from the start (2 years in March) and on the electoral roll. I can always try I guess?

As I suspected thats why I said use my method (well not mine!) some people have been successful and some not.

There are two electoral rolls though, you have the option to be taken off the edited electoral roll which is sold to companies. Our local council offers this anyway, maybe different else where.

id be surprised if they go off the electoral as its only updated once a year so floors in this method if they use it.... open to abuse from the customer :o)
