Curry's are doing a 100 hour price crash from 2pm on Thursday 22 November. There is no indication what is in the offer or how big Curry's see a price crash as, but worth a look

100 hour price crash at Currys?
I'll place money on it now that you will still be able to find the price crash stuff cheaper at a number of reputable online merchants.

you'll probably win that bet, considering all they do is pay for warehouses and staff, currys have to pay for stores, warehouses, staff etc etc.

Yes of course how silly of me, that's why they charge £89.99 for a HDMI Cable

They also sell them for £5.99 - HDMI Cable

Believe me if Amazon could sell a HDMI cable for £89.99 they would. This is how these companies survive unfortunately, it is up to the buyer to make sure they are not being taken for a ride.

Despite my sarcastic return I actually agree with you, sadly the day of the high street retailer is nearly over, overheads are just too high.
It is almost impossible for them to compete with online retailers as the only incentive they have is "have it now" rather than wait for delivery, and in the current climate people many people would rather wait than spend a few extra quid.
Rather sad as I always enjoy a good walk round the high street, but nowadays I always have my iPhone ready to see if it's cheaper online and sometimes order it from my phone after looking at the product in a high street store.

As above, it was a sarcastic return to further take the **** out of Curry's (it just took me ages reply), as I say, I agree with your point as sadly it is very true.

Obvious idiot troll.
If you must know I have an iPhone 4 bought on a staff tariff from Tesco 2 and a half years ago. Android phones were rubbish then and it was a great deal. Since then I have had a 2nd child and my partner has been made redundant (thanks ConDem) so I have not bought a different phone.
THAT is why I own an iPhone.

My apologies, maybe I went OTT (well yes I did)
I just get tired of being thrown into the iPhone fanatic bandwagon whenever I mention the fact I own one.
Your comment was relevent and funny in Hindsight and have liked it for that reason lol.

Amazon will kill all its competitors. They pay no tax so can sell stuff cheaper and still make good profits that are sent back to the States after avoiding paying tax.
Landlords still want too much money for rents, still too much theft, expensive utility bills and businss taxes. Bye bye high street stores.
#17
Maybe if online shopping becomes the only outlet and what were currys n pc world stores just become pickup locations full of stock, it'll stop idiots like martin Lewis and dom telling the public they should be haggling on the high street to get the best deals.
No payments taken in store, no upselling, no customers returning to store with supposedly faulty goods like laptops and tablets that have actually just been treat like **** cos no one places value in consumer tech anymore, its cheap, its disposable.

The public want to have it every way, cheap as the internet with discount and freebies thrown in for haggling, with a free extended warranty and no questions asked from the non commission well trained polite sales staff who aren't targeted for add on sales

You've been taken for a ride by leasing an iPhone.

Classic! There is a Beko slimline dishwasher in the sale that has been reduced by £0.00. Was £229.99 now £229.99. This is the issue with the big retailers!

I just bought 8 x Duracell Ultra MX1500 AA batteries from amazon (48p each.) an hour ago.

The only good deal I could spot on the Currys 100hrs was the 12 x Duracell Ultra for £5 (41.6p each).
Free Standard delivery.

Note these are not re-chargeable ones. Long shelf life, high power apps.
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/duracell-ultra-power-aa-alkaline-batteries-12-battery-pack-10277770-pdt.html

I didn't search ebay so apologies if better deals are available.
