When did Currys have changed their PP wording " Currys Price Promise in store:
Well match the instore prices of Argos, Asda, Comet, Jessops, Tesco, John fact any local retail store." ? Just need their staff to get on board now.

Pity their staff didn't know that.

i am a member of staff.
cant speak for the other stores but if someone comes in with a price, aslong as I can prove the item is instock at both our store/warehouse and the other retailer. we'll do the price promise.

if the item is not instock at the other retailer, we won't match.

we're not allowed to match an online store's price or a high street store's web exclusive price.

someone asked last weekend for the fifa 10 game. rang our local tesco-out of stock, therefore we couldnt do it.
even tried another store a bit further away, still out of stock.
had to apologise to the customer, he called me a **** and said that he's just come back in the following day and try again.

it certainly annoys me that we cant even match the price on items we both stock.
but theres nothing i personally can do about it.

i've only worked at Currys since april last year but have only refused a price promise due to an online store price or if the item is out of stock at the other retailer.

don't know about other sales people in other branches.

tho anytime we do a price promise we have to have a sales team leader enter it onto a feedback forum so the company knows why we had to do it.

some guy asked us to do it on a freeview box that asda also sold.
the difference was £1.75.
had to do it, as its what the customer asked for.

if a member of staff refuses to price promise for anything other than:
the item is not the same as we sell
the item is not instock with currys or with the other retailer
its an online price

then you should report them to a sales team leader or floor manager.
