Not sure if this is common knowlege or not but anything in currys with a yeallow price tag means that they have no stock left and you'll have to buy the ex-display one.

It means if it has a yellow price tag you can probably negotiate a better deal.

I just picked up a 16gb sandisk view for £50 for my Dads xmas & birthday prezzie :)

It's ex-display but thats better than refurbished in my book & comes with a 12 month warrenty still.

Anyway - if everyone already knows this feel free to ignore me!

Have tried this in our currys and the price reduction was not worth it, an ex display stereo normal price £149 they still wanted £140 for and bearing in mind this is ex-display and ex-demo ie left plugged in and on for ages in my book warranted a higher discount than a tenner, the staff where not willing to budge either, in fact when I did ask if they would come down they gave me dirty looks!!! the factor wasnt helped by bthe fact the new model was only a tenner more with a 5cd changer rather than 3!!! In the end I went elsewhere and gave someone with better customer relations my money!!! Ithink discounts may be at the store managers discretion so may be different (ie better discounts) in other stores.

since eclipse was installed in stores (computer system) the staff have more control over discount, they don't have to get managers approval as long as the discount is not silly, but customer service and training levels very a lot!

thanks hm4.

I guess it'll depend on the product & member of staff by the sounds of it, I'm well happy with my purchase anyway I was only going to get him the 4gb fuse but now for the same price he gets a 16gb view instead which looks much nicer.

I just think I'll bear it in mind - I don't buy much from real shops these days anyway but if I'm in there & see something I like with a yellow tag it's worth asking if they'll knock some off and see what happens.

worto.
