Currys staff are so rude and stupid

Reserved an item online last night, went in today and they said there was no record of it.

But before that it took 10 minutes to serve me though the store was empty the staff looked at me for a second and just continued talking to each other occasionally glancing across at me, it wasnt until I said "excuse me" I got served

Knowing there was 2 branches in town I said "what branch is this"

She gave me a weird look and said "Currys" in a rude tone I said "no I mean what branch of Currys is this" she went "Chester" with a tone of voice as if she thought I was stupid or something.

I then mentioned I knew that but there was 2 branches in town so is this the right one and gave her the code and she said "yes" she then checked the code and it turns out they never even bothered to put my item aside and it was still on the shelf!

Currys staff rightfully have bad reps as I have been to this branch before and the only time the staff seem interested is if you go to the HDTV section and they rush up to you and pester you and tell you to buy the most expensive tvs they have.

I had a bad experience with a hoover from currys, the thing was faulty and wouldnt work properly and they refused me a refund or replacement as i had used it,vowed never to shop there again, their customer service skills are lacking as youve also found out :o(
did you get your item???

its always the hd tv section when they come scurrying up to you with there smiles on. in contrast to your story and 99% of the times i have been in currys i had the most helpfull member of staff on the camera counter on sunday, she even gave me £10 off:thumbsup:

To be honest, I don't think it's just Currys... I have things like this in loads of stores I shop in.

The girl who served me though looked about 18 with make up and styled hair and a skirt so short im surprised it was acceptable! it barely covered the top of her legs and her dignity lol

Hey Mardyass, I had exactly the same thing with a hoover. I complained to the manager and cited sale of goods act but was asked to leave the store. Never will I use Currys again. Shocking service. I don't blame the staff though, they are badly paid and poorly trained.

what is it with their hoovers i wonder, you have to plug them in and turn them on to find out theyre faulty??? then once youve "used" it it becomes non returnable, they wouldnt budge on a refund or replacement either

tis a crime to wear make-up, styled hair and short skirt these days.... sure she will have been just as bad if she was wearing trousers!

I've never had a problem with any Currys staff in Leeds

I had to phone the manufactuer direct (and eventually got a replaceemnt from them), but the law is clear; your contract is with the retailer. Currys should refund/replace, but staff don't know the law and you get nowhere with them. Not worth shopping there. If you have to call the manufacturer you might as well save money and buy online anyway. BTW, when I left the store I announced to all the other shoppers what had happened (which got a laugh) and then the manager said he was calling the police. Nice.

Curry's staff are seldom trained anyway - some of them are low-lifes who dont givatosh about anything, then they turn around to asslick their boss.
