Just got insurance from these guys for £32 (my bike is insured for £450) for the year which I thought was pretty good. Thought I would post this since there are so many good bike deals popping up recently. Premium includes the following (no depreciation which is essential I think):

RACE COVER INCLUDED
2 Third party cover up to £1m worth up to £27 when bought separately
3 Personal accident cover up to £20,000 worth up to £23 when bought separately
4 Breakdown recovery for your bicycle worth up to £35 when bought separately
5 90 days’ European cover
6 60 days’ worldwide cover
7 Bike hire up to £250 to spend on a hire bike following an approved claim
8 ‘Get You Home’ cover a taxi home should your bike be stolen or damaged
9 No claims discount earn up to 40% no claims discount
10 Low excess 5% (£25 minimum payment)

eeeh they want £160 for mine, and i already have 3rd party cover with the CTC.

anyone know a better provider for higher value bikes and no 3rd party, no breakdown etc.?

i need some bike insurance, but not the extras.

Add it on to home insurance.

Yeah, then when you make a small claim for your stolen bike, you pay hundreds extra per year for your home insurance.

You might want to change the picture - that's a fatal accident you're showing (link to news story)

Would you post an actual photo of someone having a fatal heart attack to promote a life insurance or healthcare product. They may be someone's friend or relative involved in that incident reading.

M&S have a good deal through house insurance. It's in the region of any bike up to £4000 included in their policy. If you own a good bike and live in a house it's a pretty good deal. You can even have multiple bikes without extra cost. It works out good for me so I'll use them next time.
It is only maximum limit, you don't have to buy a bike for £4000 and no I don't own a £4000 bike.

Lol? Where's the racism? I assume you're referring to "muchaco"?? Blimey O'Reilly!

It was cheaper than any other insurance company I received quotes from last night.. Endsleigh and Cycleguard.. and it's sometimes better to have your bike insured separately from your home content given the increased likelihood of theft in some situations. Hence the submission as a deal.

Oh dear. They quoted me £259.50 which is more than my car and house and contents insurance combined. Unbelievably cold.

To be fair, you're probably trying to insure a bike worth >£2500? If you were to make a claim for that on your home contents insurance your house insurance premium would become mammoth..
#17
My car is worth considerably more that £2500 and that costs me just over £120 for fully comprehensive insurance so I think that £259.50 for a bike is ridiculous.

yes but high value bikes are swiped all the time

Protect your no claims bonus. Also the poster is talking about a high end bike (My bikes worth a grand, but I still don't regard it as high end so I'm assuming the bike in question is worth more) so the amount will not be small. If its small why claim at all? And besides it its costing him £160 extra just to insure the bike as long as any future claim did not bump up premiums by more that that the poster will still be better off.

If you google it an alternative definition is a male servant - I think that's what the poster was getting at.

They'd have to fight me for it though. ;)

but the £32 deal price is specific to you so deal only exists for you

its just an insurance website at the end of the day
