damaged tyre. advice please.
so, this morning i was cut up on a roundabout. in avoiding a collision i hit a kerb. i thought everything was ok although when i got to work i found the tyre in question had a bit of a lump in the sidewall.
two questions.
cheapest place to buy and get fitted, lease car so must be like for like.
how dangerous is it to drive as-is.
thanks...

As for tyres, try e-Tyre, Tyre Shopper or a local garage (may get a part worn on the cheap)

Im guessing that is what many would do. And then if car is on a short lease hand it back.
That would of course be immoral and it would be better if you actually learnt to approach all situations with the appropriate speed for the conditions at the time.
But sometimes it takes a while for little boys to learn this

Nice of you to make assumptions and judgement without knowing any of the facts.
If they check your tyres they will give you 3points and a fi e
And you need to check that your rim isnt cracked or bent as well.

Have seen previous posts by the op, so I guess I had already pre formed opinions to a degree
But
1. Get replacement asap as it is a potential lethal hazard if you have a blow-out
2. Black Circles normally have offers and they have a number of mobile fitters (it's partners rather than BC's own). Used many times as I don't get time to go during weekdays so they come to work to replace.
3. You can get points if stopped by the police
4. I would advise getting a pair rather than 1 as you will have uneven wear if you just replace the one but this is obviously up to you and your finances. You could always keep the other one as a spare as and when needed in an emergency
For convenience sake I'd just ring a few local tyre fitters and find the cheapest quote.....then drive at a reasonable speed avoiding motorways and fast roads like dual carriageways and head straight to the fitter.
The bulge will be damage to the sidewall of the tyre. If that fails (not burst but collapse) you could end up off the road. If it blows you could end up off the road or at least damaging the rim too.
Get it changed. If it is a front tyre you will have to change both most likely but if you can get a new rim you could always keep the good one off the front as a spare. New rim won't be cheap though.
Replace ASAP !
Got Kwikfit to just price beat black circles. £120.75, being done tommorow, tyre had to be ordered in everywhere I tried, kwikfit were the fastest, everyone else was saying thursday.
Only the damaged one is being done. Other side is still as new (only 4000 miles on car)
£121 for 1 tyre! You driving a merc or something?
Mine come at around the £240 mark and thats the cheapest
255/35/R19 extra load Conti's all round so almost £1000 for a full set
