It should be, in the store i work at you have to honour the reserved price.

You should ask to speak to the manager.

Really? I would have expected that whatever proce you reserve it under that is what you pay. that is what i'd have thought. what did they say when you got there?
#3
I was going to send my other half down there, as I am at work, but didn't want her to have a wasted journey. On the reservation it says "Please remember that these items have not yet been paid for, and the prices may vary due to special offers - the price you pay will be the price in store on the day you collect" which is annoying. I would have been happy to pay for the goods yesterday but you can't pay and reserve.

Do you reckon it's still worth a trek down there to argue my case?

Tell them that you could not get there to collect it due to work etc.

Fill out an order form with about 200 quid worth of stuff on it and ask to speak to a manager. If they don't give it to you for £58 show them the order form and tell them they lost out on all this trade as you were buying other stuff for xmas. If they do back down and give it to you for £58 tell them that you were only joking and it was just a test to see if they would back down.

I once did something like this to a manager at my local store and he offered it to me for the original price when I showed him the order form. The look on his face was priceless when I told him I was joking about the other items.

Trouble is they state that the price you reserve something at, is not always the price you pay, I got stung by this so I did not buy it. The best way to do it is to buy it online to pick up and not reserve it.

greetings ta-ta toothy!
when i worked at argos, no, they didn't have to match the reserved price, it says it so not sure why they would change their stance for you. not saying it's right though.

Save them for the sales then...Argos usually clear a lot after Christmas..or re-sell them on here

Why not try a price match with another shop using the Tesco deal? or is that a silly suggestion?
#13
Argos don't price match.

I'm gonna head down after work (after going home to pick up the vouchers!) and have a word with the manager. Fingers crossed.

ahhh just read your voucher post....sorry that probably didn't help

Argos have done this to me too this year, also they mucked me around with an online purchase.

Poor show Argos.

OK panic over, I went down to Argos and they quite happily volunteered to honour the lower price. Job done !
