Why do i put up with this, was siting here tonight happily having a game of COD4 and my headset just falls out but the pin still stuck right up the controller whole, now i cant get it out and my controller is unusable with a headset. I phone MS and explain the problem, they put me on hold for 30mins only to come back and say its not there fault, if there headsets are that flimsy then surely it is there fault, im not even gonna email the complaints address he gave me as its a waste of time :(

buy a new one from tesco and return the faulty one! when you opened it, there was a shiny object lodged in the bottom.

Of course it is theft. This thread should be deleted for the casual manner in which these chavvy posters are advocating stealing.

hardly, the wireless headset is quieter than the normal one (which means i would have to have the tv volume down more) also is subject to drop outs.

Also wtf "and my headset just falls out" uhhhh I dont think so things dont just fall out at all, you have mistreated it in the past to make it weak or something surely

heh if someone has to feel the need to steal ink....then the rest of their lives must be pretty bad and they must be pretty poor and their self -respect must have gone right out the window if they are prepared to talk so openly about it and without any form of modesty.

Fair point mate! It does make me chuckle when the chavs boast about how much they've stolen. At the end of the day, they are thieving toerags.

Yeah, funny how those who freely advocate fraud against a retailer would be the first to complain if a retailer dared to do anything like it to them...

Are you sure you've not put any strain on it like standing up and walking away when it's still plugged in? Many a time I've walked away from the PC and forgotten I'm 'plugged-in'. Sometimes they're OK, but a couple of times I've broken the connection in the wire and need to get new earphones.

If it is a common complaint (google it) then I'd suggest mailing the complaints address, and just say you're not happy with the item and it wasn't of merchantable quality. If it's only a month or two old then it's up to them to prove it's not an inherent fault (under Sale of Goods Act), not the consumer.

Is there any way you could use a small pair of needle-nosed pliers or tweezers to at least remove the pin so you can still use another headset? Mind you, I'd make sure they don't want to see it first before you remove it, or you could just put it back in if they do I guess. Always best to try the legal routes of recourse, mate!

Good luck!

Can you take the controller apart and get at the trapped pin from the other end to push it out (not sure what the connector is like inside a 360 controller)?

I'm sure you'll find that its yuppies who crave street cred who admit to engaging in such blatant criminal activities. Chavs have are generally too street smart to admit taking part in such activities on a public forum

I feel the need to say this, but how is the person a chav simply because of someone saying they took an item back.

When normally chavs wouldnt do that, they would just steal from the shop without buying, and very few chavs have the pc knowledge to replace cartridges anyway/

Here where I may get flamed but a few times I have taken things back, not in the same way mind you but when I bought a ps2 a few years ago and it lasted less than a year the shop wouldnt return it,I just changed the casing around and got a refund on the 2nd one I bought and had a working one, same for a few other faulty things, but thats not the same as at least mine was faulty

I personally have never returned anything, been lucky so far, the warranty on my 360 has saved me twice.

But when the company is in "the wrong" it serves them right. But this doesn't mean their policy/goodwill should be abused.

No spare controller :(

Ring M$ Xbox 360 support and tell them your controller has stopped working and you've tried changing battires, tried batteries in another controller, etc. Don't say about the pin and they will send you another controller.

I have the screw driver to take the controller apart

send it to me and i will get the pin for you if you want want

Just cover postage both ways
