We want to take our 3 year & 6 month old out for the day Sunday, but don't know where to go.

Somewhere in UK, max couple of hours drive from Wolverhampton preferbly.

We have been to places before like Ryll, Bournmouth & Chester Zoo before.

Any idea's greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

How about Drayton Manor park and zoo, I went years ago, it is in Tamworth so it shouldn't take you too long from Wolverhampton. Or we used to go to Whipsnade zoo, can't remember where it is but we used to travel from Hinckley. Or there is the American Adventure in Nottingham. Or even Dudley Zoo (never been myself).

Yeh there a few sites like this where you can put in your area and it give what there is to do,cos I always looking to go out to places with my 2.

If you go to sites called Mumsnet and NetMums they have similar sections on too.I think the NetMums you join up regionally and people post up reviews on places they been.

I don't drive so at times quite restrictive but I fairly get around anyway got a family railcard
.As you got a baby and there isn't much for them to do,try an indoor play area/ball park, they usually have a small section for babies/pre walkers.

I haven't been to drayton manor in years, so I can't really remember. I remember I nagged my parents to take me to whipsnade zoo as they had a giant hippopotamus there, (I was reading a lot of Roald Dahl at the time and in James and the giant peach his parents get eaten by one!). I mentioned the American Adventure because I remembered there was an indoor area where the kids could play, and there were wild west shows and stuff!

Another way to cut the cost of going to places is with Tesco Clubcard, the deals are worth 4 times in points. The last 2 Summers we been to Chessington for free and I try and get a cheap room too, last yr went with Travelodge. Nectar points you can echange for days out but Clubcard much better.

We've just been thinking about this today and as I live in Birmingham I would imagine they are relevant to you:
Favourite it Hatton Country World - it's really good rain or shine and ideal for that age, mine are 3 and 6 months, we went a couple of weeks ago, there is also a free animal sanctury you can go to on the way and eat in the black boy pub. Lovely meals with outdoor play area.
Cadbury world
Sealife cente
Trentam gardens (stafford way) has a monkey place there which looks good although I've never been in.
Waterworld in stoke.
Snowdome in Tamworth

Just a few ideas

Local farm is always a good one with kids that age, plenty to stimulate them with sights sounds and touch, also good for all he "cow says moo" sort of stuff.

Cheap day out and kids that age love it

We've just come back from the sealife centre which my kids thought was great (they're 7 & 4) bought the tickets from lastminute.com, saved us 1/3 (i think!) We also went to Drayton Manor 18mths ago plenty of rides for a 3year old and with azoo aswell it's well worth the money, went through lastminute again and i think we saved 50%, i'm pretty sure you dont pay for under 4's and if there's only 1adult going in with under 4's you get a discount too. Hope you have a great day wherever you go!
