Longstanton Spice Museum?

Are you being funny? If you are your joke is going WAY over my head.

Are you refering to Alan Partridge?

Brockhole Visitor centre (Ambleside). Has events for all the family throughout the holidays
Grizedale Forest - has a large play area for children and a forest.

Keswick, get them on to the launch (big boat) like a water taxi, can get off and walk about and get back on again. Also the pencil museum - not fab but will at least keep them quite for an hour or so. There is also pitch and put, tennis and one of those trampoline thingys with the harnesses in the park. Also has a nice swimming baths, a tiny cinema which only shows one or two screenings a day.... Only been day trips to other places in the lake district

Grizedale Forest seconded. South Lakes Animal Park is quite nice. Windermere is nice out of season but will be rammed this time of year. Coniston Water is nice. There's a steam train somewhere in the lakes but can't remember where. My wife and her family are from the **** end of the lake district (better known as Barrow in Furness) and when the when we go to visit we can always find loads to do with our 2 year old when the weather is good but there is not much to do if it is wet.

New one to tell you about that we went to on Saturday. Duckys Farm in Flookborough near Cartmel. Small farm that you can walk round with a big indoor play area so good option for a wet day.
