I've not used my PSP for ages and thought i'd had a play on it tonight. As luck would have it, i've plugged it in to charge, switched it on and downloaded the latest update but the battery was too low to install it. I cancelled the install but pressing pressing 'ok' and the PSP has gone off and now wont come back on. It's still plugged in at the mains but the 'charge' light isn't on. I've changed the fuse in the plug, faffed with the PSP battery and nothing seems to work. Anybody any ideas??

Was it in the middle of updating firmware when it switched off? It may be bricked.

You may need a Pandora Battery and Magic Memory stick to get into Service Mode...

It's not that bad really - plenty of people offer the service. you can just get it reverted back to an older version then either update online or via a game.

I charge around £15 for doing this so you'd probably find someone in your area offering similar.

I think i might have a word with the guy in the shop where i bought it and see what he says. I'm hoping it's just a duff power cable or something. If not, see what he says about sorting it for me. Thanks

Rang Sony and they've basically told me the same thing, that it's bricked and it'll cost me £64 to buy a reconditioned unit as it's out of warranty :?
Just been reading about it on the internet tho and people seem to say that if it's bricked, the light comes on for a while but nothing else then goes off. On mine, the light isn't even coming on at all. Does anybody think it might be something else?
Just trying to decide what to do. Weather to pay and try and get it fixed or just sell the duff one and go mad a buy a new one ;-)

Knowing my luck i'd make it worse if that's possible lol
I'm in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. I don't mind paying to get it fixed as long as i pay to get it working and not pay for somebody to say, yep, definitely dead lol I'm going to nip in the local game shop i got it from tmw and see if they'd do it and what sort of price they charge, altho i get the feeling it's going to be fair bit :whistling:

I don't mind sending you my 'kit' as long as you send it back recorded delivery to me? No charge so technically i'm not selling anything...

I'd quite happily pay for recorded delivery both ways if you'd be so kind as to loan it to me :)
