Just thought I would post a note of caution to all those who use or are thinking of using this company. I have dealt with them regularly for over a year now and never had any problems with delivery etc.

At the beginning of September, I followed the link on HUKD for a mini camera in a pen which seemed like a good gift for a friend of mine. I paid as usual and waited...and waited....and waited.

I have heard of some people never receiving goods but then its to be expected all the way from HK. I waited until the end of September and then raised a ticket. Since then they have fobbed me off with excuse after excuse and asked me to wait and wait until we are now nearly 7 weeks later.

I thought I would resort to Paypal, but they dont cover this merchant nor were they even vaguely interested in my plight (after all they have their commission).

I have contacted Royal Mail on numerous occasions and they are 100% certain that a parcel with the HK Post Office tracking number I was given by Deal Extreme has not entered the UK (hmmmm who do you believe huh?).

Anyway I know most will ignore this or think I was stupid in the first place but Deal Extreme have always been very good and given excellent service. I would still like to carry on doing business with them but this incident has dented my faith. Moral, only order cheap items and dont use paypal. If they do sort it out I will post again and I really hope they do as I have had some great items from them.

Good luck

Try contacting them and threaten them with paypal, when I had probs with them they messed me around for weeks, till I told them I was contacting paypal, next day the y emailed to say that it was all sorted and a new one was being despatched. :) good luck

i orderd sumfing from DX this sat, hopefully it comes!!!

I tried raising a dispute, and the online form gave me a message saying 'this transaction is not covered by our dispute resolution service' - so I emailed them. 'Tough' was basically the answer I got. I think its because of the way Deal Extreme is set up account wise or something

I have ordered from them several times in the past & never had any problems.

yeah, thats not a bad idea - I was trying to play the 'nice' card first but I guess not everyones that nice. What annoys me is that they can see I have ordered and paid for around 20 odd items in the last few months and all have been fine so its not like I'm pulling a fast one or anything.

If you are seriously asking whether I would believe Royal Mail before DealExtreme, then the answer is no. I've been on this roundabout with RM before with an item from DX and they told me the same. It turned up two months late along with two other non-delivered items that had been in RM's hands the whole time!

Fact remains that Deal Extreme are the ones who have to argue with RM and send a new one in the mean time. My guess is that RM have probably got it butu realistically you cant win with RM.:)

I placed a order (well several totalling £60+ lass night, seperated into individual items for customs purposes), so I can try my hand at "locksport" they better come now:x ordered from them before and things have been ok so fingers crossed for this lot now:?

DumbAss me finally worked out why my dispute with Paypal was rejected/closed because more than 45 days after the transaction date has expired! Why didnt they tell me that?

I bet this is why DealExtreme kept asking me to wait. I thought that they had probably forgotten to dispatch and were sending another one to cover their mistake. But they must have known how I paid and spun it out. Is this me just being twisted and cynical in my old age?

Hmmm I have emailed Paypal again (fortunately, I kept a PDF print of the DealExtreme ticket history as it has been mysteriously removed at the moment).....

Wrong way to do it Halzter. When several orders are placed, they often just group them together. Hopefully you get away with that! I always make sure I leave a couple of days between when I have several things I want. I'd hate to get stung for customs - but more to the point the ludicrously expensive collection charge from royal mail.

I wouldnt worry too much, I am only highlighting this as I wanted peoples experience whilst trying to empty my head and get my reasoning clear. I am not out to trash them as I have had no problems with anything over the last year and I have ordered so many items and they have all arrived fine. I guess thats why Im so disappointed :?

thanks for the reminder, I want to place an order tonight

Not when they are different names and addresses:thumbsup: 2 paypal accounts at hand (mine and oh) and 2 addresses with paypal on each, totals 4 orders with a different name and address combo:thumbsup:

Have used deal extreme in the past without problem, and always been good on returns and queries.

Focalprice.com is similar site if you are looking for somewhere other than dealextreme

I ordered a replacement casing for my N95 and it took 7 weeks to arrive - I just accept that they are like that as it's happened to me on other items too but they do turn up in the end.

I'm kinda surprised dealextreme aren't excluded from this site - the amount of (almost) counterfeit goods is questionable to say the least - I avoid them usually.

Jus' my tupence worth :)

I'd trust SUNDERLAND over RM!
I've had good service from DX and I got that camera pen.
Canny it is.
Used it twice so far to record dealings at a garage that might have gone bad.

O, btw, RM....where's my birthday card with £20 in it????????????????????

Contact the HongKong post office.

Someones liable, and my bet is it the RM too.

Just an update to say that they are still 'looking' with the HKPO to see where the parcel might be. They have asked me to check with the PO again which I have and they still dont have anything.

I'll be interested to see just how long this goes on as its now 8 weeks on Monday since I placed the order.

How much did it cost?

It was about £20 or so (at the time when rates were a lot better than now).
