Deals that are voted cold!

I don't mind people voting deals cold, but when a person does vote cold it's only reasonable for them to state the reason for doing so.

I'm sure most of us who work hard to find good deals for everybody would like to know who the unscrupulous characters are that serial vote cold all the time. I think it would be good idea for us to be able to have a function that allows us to see how everybody has voted for a particular deal.

No doubt the mods have the ability to be able to do that! Yet, allowing some of your loyal members to have this function would I think prevent misuse of the cold button, because such ones will know they are going to get reported.

i think the same should be true for voting hot as well though. The mods do have the power to know when you vote cold without explanation. edi told me off and i haven't been naughty since:oops:.

Again....... ;-).

As shengis stated when this was raised before, people get slagged off and into petty arguments for 'daring' to explain why they voted cold. YES the vote should be based on the 'bargain factor / saving' but it doesn't happen.

People vote on deals depending on there likes dislikes for people...totally wrong imo...I vote on the deal not the person

I'm cool! But, for the site to operate properly you do count on others to give an honest appraisal on deals rather than the kind that just pouring cold water on just about every deal they see.

Good on you! That's the fairest and honest way to do it.

I know exactly what you mean cuz it gets on my nerves too!!:?

As has been pointed out time & time again, if a deal is truly hot it will show in the temp over time.

There are undoubtedly a handful of people that vote cold on deals from certain suppliers, posted by certain members or certain items/types of item (HD vs Blu-ray & 360 vs PS3 spring to mind), but ultimately the MAJORITY will decide whether a deal's hot or not.....

I'm sure we would all like know who the serial voters are that vote cold? It's not make scapegoats out them, but to ask them the reason why they vote cold all the time.

True, it's the majority that decide. That's why we keep going despite the serial voters, but it's good for someone to tell us why they have voted cold so that we can learn from our mistakes or they may have found better deal that ours!

Its pretty much as Charlie says and I don't think displaying names of those who have voted cold would be a good idea. Human nature being what it is would result in a "retalitory" cold vote on their deals.....

Mods have punished serial code voters in the past, so there is a way that they can detect this....

A lot of the 'loyal' members on this site are the ones who would vote cold 'cos they dislike certain other 'loyal' members...I think!

neat!:-D ...
...but this comes up time after time and I think that there could be clearer guide-lines for new users ( and perhaps old!).
Shouldn't this be in feedback?

That's only true if the majority actually get to see the deal.
I'm sure there will be (at least a few times), hot deals which are stifled by people throwing a bucket of water over them.
i.e. cold callers who vote deals cold thus impacting the visibility of a deal (factoring in the new layout of HUKD)
