Decent affordable hotels in Paris

Hello all

I just had a look at Eurostar prices to Paris, there are £69 return tickets available in early May. I'm just checking to see whether a short 2 or three day trip is feasible for me.

In your experience what are the hotel prices like, is £30 a night feasible, if so where.

I don't want to stay in a dodgy BnB.

Thanks

I have stayed in around 10 hotels in Paris and the Hotel Ampere is my favourite one, it may be slightly more expensive than average but worth every penny, really near metro station and easy to get into Paris. It's in a very safe area.

For a cheaper hotel, you could try The Hotel Armstrong, when I stayed here the rooms were very small, basic with a very small bathroom.http://www.armstrong-paris-hotel.com/index.html

When I was in Paris I slept in a place called "le street". Affordable if not a little cold and wet but loads of interesting characters to meet.
