Stay in london with a high paying job, but be pretty miserable or move away to a lower paid job, start right back at the start of the IT job line and have a lower paid job but move back to where friends are?

Help :(

gotta be happy in what you do.Do you really need the money

I'd choose happiness and friends over money.

If the money is enough to get by on and the rest of your life is richer, then move back.

Choose to be happy but be careful sometimes going back to an old job with old friends sounds great but a lot could have changed, managers, people's attitudes etc. I left a higher wage to go to the bottom of IT as an applications developer and I don't regret it for a second.

There is more than 2 options i guess, the kinda full story is that i moved to london for a job when i was 20 on my own not knowing anyone, im not really the type of person to just go out on my own and meet friends...
My missus is moving to canada at the end of december, from bristol and my mates are all in cheltenham, so when im here i have a boring monotinous job and no one to spend time with.

IMO No amount of money is worth being miserable for !! I would say think long & hard about what you really want & when you know what it is GO FOR IT.. If it means moving away & starting again DO IT or if it means changing the way you look at where & how you are now DO THAT........ ( sometimes I think all we need to do is change our opinions/views to see ''Greener grass'' right under our feet ) ..............whatever your decision , ''ENJOY THE RIDE'' ! Good luck :)

going back isnt easy either..as natversion said-people change-long time ago i left school at 16-and decided after a few weeks of the new term to return. I didnt settle as it was completely different...

highly paid job! buy friends! lol

with the way the economy is at the moment I would'nt want to move jobs right now.

could you commute from where your friends live? if money doesnt matter spend it on travel :)

Exactly what i was thinking. My friends husband travels from south wales to london mon-fri, its hard work as they have 3 children under 4 but the money is good

You get the best of both worlds :)

Could you not move somewhere in between both job and friends.....then the only compromise is the traveliing time

theres no point staying someplace that makes you miserable, your better off following the route that makes you happy
