i bought a sixaxis ps3 pad off here from a guy, the pad was described used. i specifically asked about the pad being in good cosmetic condition, the pad arrived yesterday with a peice of rubber missing from one of the sticks.
Would you call it USED? or DAMAGED?

I'd not be happy if this wasnt declared.

damaged

would call it "done" you have been:thumbsup:

if rubber has worn off one of the sticks then that's down to wear and tear so I'd be inclined to say that it sounds heavily used.
If on the other hand, any of the buttons didn't work or the stick's weren't springing in/out then that would be damaged. I remember a friend sold his Ps2 in CEX and the guy wouldn't take one of the pad's he had because the stick was worn.

So I'd say from what you said it is in used condition but not damaged.

So I'd say from what you said it is in used condition but not damaged.

And yet the OP specified that he asked whether it was in good cosmetic condition. Whichever way you spin it (and for the record I would expect a piece of rubber missing to be declared irrespective of semantics) that is not good cosmetic condition.

i will post a pic tommorrow, admittedly its not a big peice of rubber. but the guy has the audacity to say to me . "what do you expect for £15", when i have bought another pad off here for that. and especially when there was a deal for £18 for dualshock 3 pads from sony.

Well it's safe to say it's been used

yes you are right it was used and not brand new:thumbsup:

if it isnt stated when selling its clearly mis selling
#11
what did the seller say regarding the question about cosmetic condition?
#12
I have 2 spare sticks in pristine condition with the rubber on them if you want to try a diy repair job.

Should have asked for a picture? Problem solved.

There is no "definition" of used, although it is "used" and "damaged", so it was described correctly as being "used".

If it is damaged as you say after looking at the thread i'd leave a neg and ask for a refund.

To be fair though the alarm bells should have been ringing when he avoided your question;

Pm me your details, i trust the pad is in good condition and fully working? if so we have a deal.

Yeah the pads are in full working order, but just wanted to make sure you realised it was used,

You'll learn from it at least

Hi

I have just seen this thread and thought i should write somethin. With regards to the controller the amount of rubber that is missing from the controller is tiny, probably less then a mm, therefore i would not class this as damage as it is clearly from wear and tear from the use it is had.

Secondly with regards to what do you expect for £15, this was written and meant in the sense of the fact that the purchaser was implying that he would have paid less because of the piece missing. The thing i am annoyed about is that i never intentionally tried to 'screw' him. I have bought second hand nunchucks and other from controllers from game, cex etc and the condition of these has been far worse.

Any way rant over, just wanted to clear my name before it gets tarred. Really like this site and use it a lot, i guess it is my fault really as i should have follow the guidance and post pics, and a better picture (although if i had thought the controller was in poor condition i would have done this). Guess i know for future trades.

I have offered the purchaser a refund, once sent back i will sell it on to cex.

Cheers

Dan

I had just seen the thread, i realise you didnt post my name but a link had been posted to the thread. Look mate i dont wanna argue with you anymore i have offered you a refund, we obviously havent communicated well enough and i admitted i probably should have put pictures up. If you want to send it back, i will refund the costs and then sell it on to cex, therefore you are not left with a product you dont want and i can sell it on to cex, which means i wont lose out either.

If u=your happy with this please let me know and ill pm you my address

thanks

I think the buyer is being unreasonable considering the response from the seller.

I'd probably described that as used then, not damaged.

Think the seller had to get involved in this thread after (a) someone linked to it and (b) you linked it to him in a message. To ignore it would have confirmed his guilt. Sounds on the level to me, and for £15, can't see the problem. (Unless its massively ripped and hanging off)

Its more than a mm, would you tell the person you are selling to its missing a piece of rubber before you sold it? Even after i asked about the condition of it.
