what ever you do do not buy a dell computer
order a laptop for a customer of mine on 11th december 2009 they wanted it for christmas never came in time
dell told me it was coming on 5th january never came
rang and rang dell, they just keep you holding on for about 1/2 hour or more on the phone
now they have told me that the laptop has gone missing and that i will have to just wait for the courier to give me a ring when they have found it
once they have had your money they don't care
i will never buy from dell again
anybody else had problems with dell

Dell are one of the biggest sellers of PCs and laptops in the world, so they must be doing something right.

In all large organizations things go wrong, get lost etc.

Sounds like it is more a problem with the courier than Dell.

While I can understand your annoyance I dont see why you should expect us all to stop buying Dells.

Dell choose their couriers. Wherever they can save money they will!

Search on Google and you will find the countless other problems that people have had with them. They are a large organization because they know how to advertise and cut costs.

2 problems I have had in past 6 month.

- Laptop charger stopped working on XPS 1710.

Turns out MANY people had the same problem as Dell are producing the same faulty product and not willing to admit to it.

- New laptop charger order took 1 month to be delivered despite being "shipped" 2 days after ordering (around 14 days past expected arrival date)

To make matters worse Dell thought they were doing me a great favour refunding my £7 delivery charge despite the fact I had spent over £10 on their premium numbers to speak with idiots in India who insist on cutting you off or transferring you. I was transferred a total of 20 times before I spoke with the correct person.

i repair pc's for a living if i kept people on the phone for over half a hour they would just use someone else

Got 3 dell computers and they have been the best ive owned. Laptop has outlasted 4 other brands so I wont be getting a different brand next time it comes to upgading.

Very true,i'm on my 2nd Dell desktop,used them for over 10 years,never had a problem:thumbsup:

I would never used or advise anyone to use dell from now on, I had a similar problem before Christmas.
Nothing would please me better than this company going under (but all the staff find different jobs easily with no loss of income).

Brought my first dell computer and that got damaged in the post "apparently", something which they failed to notify me of, which took countless phone calls to find out, this PC which has been good, although a tad unreliable took nearly a month to arrive

I was not impressed by them, especially trying to contact them which I kept been put through to an Asian call centre who could barely understand what I was saying, but held on because the deal was so good

I would hate having to try to return a product

yep and i have 3 of them so they all got to me without problem.

had mine bout 4 years now never been a problem with it and it was delivered on time

as above with every big company sometimes things go wrong

take amazon play etc people say there stuff goes missing in the mail normally royal mail pinching :p but the companies then resolve the issue.

sorry i'm not saying that dell computers are rubbish just that there customer care and the courier they use are not very good
