I'm just about to make payment, but after double checking the Laptops spec's, I don't seen any spec's for memory!?

Does this mean there's NONE installed? Surely they wouldn't sell a laptop without and memory installed?

Email will take to long. Items come and go FAST on there!

I contacted online help, they told me to contact phone sales. Contacted phone sales, they told me to contact online help!? Phone sales were VERY VERY rude indeed. It was an Indian bloke, which is not a problem in itself, but he REALLY lived up to the harsh rep Indian call centre rep's seem to get. I've never experienced it up until now.

Total **** he was!

how did you get on?

there are some really well priced studio's on there at the moment, i'm trying not to be tempted.

the last time i used the site you used to be able to look up the tag number for full specs, i ended up with lots of extra's that weren't listed on the site like backlit keyboard. its harder now to tell what kind of deal your getting, don't know why they can't give you more information, very frustrating

I have noticed their specs on the Outlet tend to be a bit brief although I can't see them shipping a machine without memory. If it's a good deal then at worst it's something you can fit yourself.

some of the specs on this new site are worse than the old one

i just ordered a mini 1012 and got this ridiculous email for 0GHz CPU
"AR-1PMB0M1Inspiron 1012 - 0Ghz - 160.00Gb HD - 1024.00Mb Mem "

I recently bought an XPS 16 from Dell outlet; they're really bad at putting the details in; sometimes they miss entering the processor type even and they don't correct thier mistakes even if you email them (no response to three separate mails I sent them).
You're right Dell Sales are VERY rude when you ask about outlet ( they could just politely say we can't help) - I tried to complain about their rudeness - but just had a supervisor be rude to me.

That said I'm very pleased with my 'scratch and dent' laptop - it didn't have a mark on it incidentally - £575 for a spec currently selling discounted for £890.

Even when you order they show no more detail than in the first screens. As Dell memory is so expensive it's a gamble if you really want at least 4Gb ; but that said not much has less than 3Gb on outlet.. My lappy had bluetooth and a bgn wireless that wasn't in the specs.

I sounds like whatever you buy has to be good to go then, so it's unlikely that it will ship without any memory whatsoever!? I'm still not so sure. I did not follow up on the checkout, and the laptop has gone now as I expected it would :-(

I can sympathise with your experiences with the sales rep's! If their this nasty when your trying to buy, how bad are they when you have a problem? I've always found Indian call centre staff to be some of the most polite and helpful, same goes for when I've dealt with Chinese rep's, but these lot that work for Dell are so arrogant and short with you it's unbelievable. They barked something at me and put the phone down when I was in mid sentence, one time they just picked the phone up and I heard some very loud strange music, then they grunted something and hung up. If it was face to face you'd deck them! lol

Cheers for the replies anyways ;-)

mumbojumbo
It's not the Indian call centre's fault. Dell Outlet is run separately from the main site. You can call them on the number given on your order acknowledgment/confirmation, but they only work standard Mon-Fri 9-5 hours.

That sounds very likely mate, but it doesn't mean the call centre rep's have to be so bloody rude! At the end of the day they still represent Dell, and as a potential customer I'm going to judge Dell on how well these rep's deal with me.

As it is, I'd give them an 'F'
