I just did a dead pixal test on my new 22" monitor and it seems as if there are 2 dead pixals i cant get rid of them.

Is having 2 normal or should i expect to get a monitor with none , as now i found them they are annoying me.....i would like a monitor with no dead pixals.

I tired to rub at them but they dont go so i guess i may be stuck with them?

A display with 1 to 5 fixed pixels is within the industry standards, and is therefore considered an acceptable display.

I got a 20" Dell monitor with a clump of about 10 dead pixels stuck together, Dell were fantastic at replacing it for me.

My recommendation is don't do a dead pixel test as it will just end up driving you crazy once you notice them :) As paperclip posted a couple dead pixels are generally not going to get you a swap from Dell however a lot of belly aching can change that situation... Depends on how much time, persistence and persuasive ability you have.

I bought a TFT monitor (from ebuyer) and noticed 1 dead pixel. It wasn't even in the centre of the screen. I contacted them and received a replacement - however I noticed the pixel within the first 2 weeks.

Gone are the days of "having to put up with deal pixels" and most companies will sort you out with a replacement in my experience. However if you've had the monitor for a couple of months (i.e. less than 30 days I think it is) then the company are less likely to give you a replacement although it would be worth asking as Dell tend to have good customer experience in my experience.

Whilst it is "within industry standards" if it annoys you then you can at least ask for a replacement. Thi8s kind of policy is now quite old fashioned (from the days where TFT manufacturing was more expensive and more difficult).

Also if you are still within the window of time where you can return your product, just send the monitor back and buy another.
