Would have been nice but i've already ordered it now. Also would it work on Outlet though or just the normal site?
Thanks nevertheless, might come back to you as I might be needing some accessories...

Cheers, but the laptop has now been ordered, they took two days just to take my money! Now they have a 2 week estimated delivery date!

Considering they have to build it from scratch and ship it to you, it's not bad.

Those are pessimistic dates anyway, to cover them in case one of the parts is OOS...

Dell outlet sell returned and cancelled orders. they build nothing
, but the units do go through the system to have os reinstalled, optional extras removed and recoded with new system tags before being repackaged.

I thought they were stripped down prior to them being sold though, as I remember reading it somewhere. Not that they will be refurbished, but that they are CURRENTLY refurbished.

Nevermind, hopefully the wait will make me build up to it, but I can see me just getting more and more annoyed with it. Especially as they won't let me change the delivery address now, as I didnt think it would take so long so I put my London address to bring it back to Coventry with me. But due to this 2 weeks estimated delivery I won't be there, its unlikely anyone else will be and the collection office will be miles away I bet! So could cause further problems, but they wont allow me to change the address due to 'security' reasons...

No worries, I know what it is like. Normally I don't do these rant posts, but just seeing if it is/has happened to many others. As personally 2 weeks for a system that is sat there ready built should be fairly quick. Furthermore, when I ordered my Dell Mini 9 to specification it took 4 working days from the day of purchasing to the morning it was in my hands.

ive had a few from outlet, always taken the full time to deliver that they specified. never early as far as i remember. useless, buts it what to expect when ordering a dell.

They 'tend' to deliver well before the 2 weeks. I've ordered 2 from them in the last few months and they've always arrived in less than 2 weeks.

The 20 quid del charge is over the top, I tend to wait for their free delivery offers but then you have to be quick as they jack the price of all the units up by about 20 quid !
Someone posted quite a while ago that they said they charge 20 quid because they ship from Ireland ?

Well whether it is early or the full two weeks it makes little difference now as I will still be faced with the same problem.

Seems you have had a different experience then shanecr. £20 for delivery is well over the top I agree, and waiting for free delivery is hit and miss as you say, but furthermore the model I bought there was only a few, and never seen many on there really.

Ahh, you got one of the Studio 1747 that were on there a week or so back. I could kick myself for missing those !

being in Scotland, dell deliveries take longer.i have placed orders for deals that were on this forum, and had mine delivered days after others who ordered at same time and after. And those people always seem to be in england.

its like dell deliver to a depot in england, from there many laptops are put out for delivery whilst scottish bound laptops get shipped to another depot before being sent out. and they are never in a rush,

Sure did :-D Shouldn't have, but I need a laptop. Was meant to sell the PC first, or at least have a sale lined up. But seemed too good a deal to pass up on, especially as the laptop i was looking at went OOS, and I was after a powerhorse with a 17 inch screen and a graphics card. So it worked out perfect...just this waiting time! :x

Even just residents then :p

Well still no update, and the reply I received was that they have moved warehouse and thus are experiencing problems with downloading the orders...personally I find that hard to believe that a PC company are having serious IT issues which increase delivery times by like a week!
But nevermind!
