Hi all.

Hypothetically if I had ordered a Dell upgrade for a new system which I no longer needed (hypothetically) could I flog the upgrade disk when it hypothetically arrives?

If I could how much is it likely to be worth??.............. (Hypothetically that is).

If it's anything like previous Dell installation disks, it will only work on a Dell that's been purchased in the last couple of months - as they're linked to the machines BIOS.

Hypothetically, you can do as you wish

The reason the upgrade is surplus to requirements is that I have bought a full Windows 7 install for my PC & will be getting a new motherboard sometime in the near future.

As I wont be able to use the Dell Windows 7 upgrade with another motherboard I might as well install the full Windows 7 version which wont cause me any upgrading problems down the line.

Although the upgrade will only work on a Dell machine I thought it may be attractive a fair few folk with newish Dell Vista machine.

you should be able to use the upgrade with a new motherboard by ringing MS.
