I will soon be starting to go to the gym and get a bit lighter and my friend said I should detox, I know that detoxing is basically fruit and water, but is there any other foods I can eat as part if a detox diet?

I know I could probably have searched on Google but this is where I normally get all my lines problems sorted out :)

Your friend is an idiot. Detoxing is nothing but a marketing term for idiots, ergo anyone who recommends it for things other than alcohol or drug addiction is an idiot.

You do know people on here get their answers after searching on google :whistling:

I suppose, but HUKD is like a business; I employ someone to find the answer and I pay them with plenty of rep :w00t:

Just eat your fruit and veg everyday.

After your work out go and have yourself a sit in the steam room or sauna for a hour.

steam room and sauna couple of times a week.

Make sure you drink water.

De-toxing is a myth, unproven rubbish used to sell pointless products with no proven benefits. Your body already de-toxes itself. Just be sensible, eat healthily and exercise.

I made a thread exactly like this a little while ago and didn't receive much advice other than "you're an idiot" either, so good luck! If you want to look for it you can just read all the abuse I got instead of getting it yourself! Woop!

i think the first thing to detoxing is to reduce stress, start by ignoring the trolls here!

if a few days of fruit and water make you feel good, that is the point of it
nothing wrong with going back to basic natural food for a few days, it does remove that bloated feeling when you eat too much junk

I used to do 1 day a week not eating, drinks as usual, i think i will go back to that, it does seem to relax the stomach more, and you eat less the couple of days after too, as you feel less hungry

There is no such thing as a Detox. All it is a word used by merchants of fake medicine. Here is a good link about detoxing.

I am no expert but my idea of detoxing is eating more fruit and veg + drinking more water and reducing or cutting out bad fats, sugar, junk food, ciggies and alcohol etc... To me that makes sense...

nto neccesarily true.....yes there are branded products which claim to help detoxing, this is the marketing nonsense which you refer to

yes you can help your body to detox by drinking plenty of water and eating unprocessed natural foods, yes your body detoxifies itself but if you put less crap in your organs do not have to work so hard.........

what you and others appear to be saying is it doesnt matter what foods you eat, it wont make any difference at all.....this is wrong:thumbsup:

That's what I meant. Just eating better and more water and fruit and veg, but what else can I eat, because if I eat nothing but fruit it doesn't fill me up AT ALL.

All this "your mate's an idiot" quotes are just childish, I didn't mean pills or anything and neither did he.

Just have a good balanced diet.

Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and foods high in carbohydrate.
Have moderate amounts of dairy products and foods rich in protein.
Eat only small quantities of fats and sugar.

Erm, there are a fair few Bodybuilders on here.

Detoxing, hmm, don't bother imo.
