Diablo 3

MardyMardy

Diablo 3! What a game! I've just come from my mates and going to purchase the game in a few hours if tesco have stock. I'm just wondering is there any point if im only running on about 1mb normally less? Will it be so laggy that it's not playable?

As long as the latency is reasonable and the connection stable I would expect it to be fine, I'm having no problems on a 2Mb connection. Ideally I'd recommend trying to get a hold of a starter pass as that way you can see how well it works on your system although the game seems to be suffering a variety of server and network issues at the moment so if you do have issues it may not be related to your connection.

How do you check latency and what would be acceptable to run the game on?

As an example, my iphone has a 3g connection of 1.8meg. I dont think I would feel confident running diablo on my laptop with a tethered connection. Best suggestion I can make right now is to download and install the client on your machine, then just get your friend to log in and test the stability.

In game, and towards the bottom right of the UI, will be (up to) 3 bars. Hover over this for your latency.

Its a great game though, if you can get over the complete randomness of the loot drops, paired with some awkward random stat generation.

Yea download would be pointless. It would take far too long. I need a disc. But your right about the game it is something else!

8gb on a 1meg connection might take a little long. You could always take a portable hard drive and copy your friends client, provided its portable like wow.?
