It's all a lie.
She was out door-knocking this morning, telling people that they need to be sure to vote Labour on the 58th of June.

Ahh it was in the sun! Must be true!
I'm voting labour but I think Diane Abbot lets them down. Hopefully they'll have a little reshuffle. Even with her on board it's better than the Tories.

Stuck in lift with Corbyn and Abbott. She can't work out what floor number, he won't press the button.

In the Sun paper today apparently someone had sent her a fake email claiming to be corbyn's aide and she replied "I am worried about telling untruths about my health" and that diabetes wouldn't stop her doing the show ...

It is right that Diane Abbott is gone. It is probably both of sickness and not up to the job at this point in time in politics.
.
By the way, talking about the Diane Abott style of answering challenging questions or not knowing answers.
We have here in MISC so many Diane Abbott style commentators , they make lots of assertions which I agree with in principle like anti-terror , anti-immigrant , Brexit. However no one could answer any of my questions, all I had asked was genuinely how they are going to do it, as I don't know how and what more could be done within the law and order or even with new legislations, with specific instructions, how much it costs, and then ask them to write to the authorities so as to stop the madness and unsatisfactory status that they ask for here in this forum.
Then they car-crash out like Diane Abbott on LBC radio's interview with Nick Ferrari, waffle, don't answer my questions, deflect my questions, don't want to write down how to implement their personal wants like manifestos, no costings when they think it is ever so easy to do, did not want to say who is going to pay money to implement their aims, like Diane Abbott, may be they believe too a small sum of money can deploy thousands of policemen.

Printed in the "Metro" too, together with a photograph of her on a mobile telephone a short walk away & twenty minutes before she was due to be interviewed at The BBC.

Corbyn was on BBC Breakfast and asked, the way he replied said it all :( but he is going to call her today to make sure she is ok.

Abbott standing aside is 'indefinite'
Sounds a lot like she will not be home secretary if Labour win

People are being unkind to her.

How can she not be suffering after so many car crashes?

On a serious note. Realising she is a liability and needed to be silenced does nothing to change the fact she is shadow Home Secretary.. Lying to save face when it would be better to prove strong leadership and sack her. Only that will convince anyone.
#13
Continued support for her, which is imho nothing to do with her abilities, but because of her loyalties and history is really a form of corruption. The sort we are always being told JC is above! From her days on This week etc with Portillo I can't remember a time this lady didn't come across as a blustering baffoon....the sort of person who when challenged to adjudicate a difficult decision only ever says 'I can see both sides of the argument' as if everyone else who's chosen a side is incapable of that!

It's a shame they can't make the change now if that's the plan. I'm sitting on the fence with her being one of the obstacles, her performances have been nothing short of clueless as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure there must be others in my position and I find it hard to believe too many Labour voters would have a change of heart if she was permanently replaced.

I had some woman ring me yesterday saying she was a volunteer for Labour party and could I answer a few questions.

That reads suspiciously like an answer to her first question.

I had Labour ring me on Tuesday asking for my vote and I said there's no way I'm voting for Mary creage who went against her own party and the will of the people of Wakefield by trying to block artical 50.i also said that the town centre is like a ghost town where a lot of shops have shut and other half eastern European and that the Labour council has slashed park maintainence and i lost my dog for a few minutes in the overgrown grass and he said he understands as he lives near thornes park yet when I googled the phone number it was a 01912 Tyneside number the lieing sod (_;)

She hasn't gone it's only temporary 'Diane Abbott is being replaced as Labour's shadow home secretary during a "period of her ill health", the party has confirmed'. Though you are right about her temporary replacement didn't want Corbyn as leader.

The difference is none of us are aspiring to probably the second most important job in the country. It's lucky she isn't shadow health secretary. Lord only knows what she would diagnose herself with - ' It's a chest infection, I mean haemorrhoids, no wait a minute I think my leg's fallen off'

Yes absolutely, sometimes people on long term sick who are unlikely to ever return need to be fired (using the appropriate legal framework)

Would you prefer the Dutch HR laws?, My mate runs a business over there and has been paying a woman sick pay for the last 14 years, she only managed 6 months work! before going on sick. He gets zero return yet still has to pay.

Please say we can stop paying her now as well, that would be a bonus.

You are mixing up job function and a citizen in democracy which you and I are. Very few of us can function like a Home Office secretary, so you are correct that we are not aspiring to these top posts. They represent you and I and the many. But you and I can represent each of us to our representatives in these top posts.
This is to say each one of us in a democracy can have ideas and proposals for change. There is oodles of these ideas and proposal here in MISC.Then if anyone here has a sustainable, valuable, workable practical suggestion it is ever so easy to present personally your suggestion to an authority for consideration, such as writing a specific request to an MP, a CEO of a company (which people do here regularly to do a refund in deals section even for a refund of ~£20).
The decision is yours, reflect on yourself what you can do purposefully or are you doing nothing and turn a blind eye. Anyone can represent himeself/herself to politicans, to police panels, to police complaint board, to commnunity trustees at hospitals, as active member in community groups in the NHS and so on. You don't need to be asipring to be Chairman or trustees of these organisations to bring about a change.
