Hows she a nugget? You can say that about just about every game, if you don't gamble you have no chance of winning. Presumably she was offered say £15k earlier in the game, if she had gone on to take the £130k would she be a nugget for not taking the £15k?

normally would agree, but she turned down 45k,turned down 100k and turned down 140k-just my opinion, but when you are down to 2 boxes with 250 or 10 and are offered 140,then you take it-surely the risk/reward is too high at that point?

Yes but come on.....the chance obviously is 50-50

There is no way in the world I would gamble £140k on the chance I could walk away with 10k

Whichever way you look at it, she wanted to be a star on tv and that got her 10k. Lets hope she is happy ahahahah :D

I have to rather reluctantly admit to seeing this show the previous night, when the guy turned down £14.5K, then the same amount, then accepted £8K at his mothers insistence after 2 big numbers vanished. They then played the game out, next he was offered £14.5K, then £75K and eventually would have won £250,000

Everyone was crying.

It was hilarious.

I was wanting her to get £10k just for being greedy!!

No more of a nugget than the people who watch a program for an hour where people open boxes at random for entertainment! :D

There was another one when the guy had £250k left on the board and dealt for about £12k, despite his girlfriend saying "The person I fell in love with would play on and go for it". He bottled, dealt and had the £250k in his box. Should have seen her face ... unimpressed. End of relationship I reckon. Haha.

Didn't watch it but can't blame her, once in a lifetime opportunity. I would of done the same as her.

I don't know, thinking the box might have the 10k in it

That would be enough for me to Deal at £140k

I would have been so gutted to win 10k and just 5 min ago I could have walked with 140k

I agree if people actually sit down for a full hour to watch it. I just PVR the last 20 minutes as then takes about 3 minutes to watch. Can be quite entertaining at the end.

She was a complete idiot imo as she gambled £130K to win £110K on a 50:50

Should have taken the £140K and put £110K on red down the casino :)

at least she'd have £30K left should she lose that rather than £10K lol

One word - GREED!

140k is 130k more than 10k and only 110k less than 250k so she was offered more than half on a 50:50.

Whatva bell end decision.

What I loved was at the end she said "10k is still alot of money and I came to play the game and that's what I have done".

She had already played the game when she had a tax free offer of £140k ready to go into her bank. If I was her fella I would leave her out of principle as she is clearly very stupid!

She'd of been better off taking the 140k and playing roulette with it. Better odds if she put 120k on red or black and 5k on 0. Even if she lost she'd have 15k, if the red or black bet came in she'd have 255k and if 0 came in she'd have 200k

I could not believe that she had turned down £140,000 last night - her husband should have spoken up - I thought he seemed to go into a trance, but he was shocked at winning £10,000. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

no,

offer was £140K so she gambled £130K to gain a potential extra £110K so she was offered LESS than half on a 50:50.

130K > 110K

Cant see how you cant see this.

Looking at it you're right. She was guaranteed 10k at least as either this box or the 250k one would come up.

However, logically, the 140k offer was a guaranteed offer that was only 110k less than the 50% chance of getting the 250k and 130k more than the guaranteed 10k (minimum). Anyone in a right frame of mind would choose a guaranteed 140k offer over a 10k guaranteed box or 50% assured 250k box.

It was either:

10k (minimum) guaranteed
140k guaranteed
50% chance of 250k

I would have chosen the 140k guaranteed as it is 130k more than the 10k and only 110k less than risking it for 250k.

But yeh; you're right.
