Didier Drogba - How many games should he be banned for?

He's an overpaid, spoilt brat pretending to be a footballer.
Personally I think he should get at least 10 games.

Discuss.

Should be more but think thats all the FA will give.

3 and a fine.

Why ban him?
#3
For the benefit of anyone who does not know what happened. He is a Chelsea footballer who threw a coin at the fans during the game last night.

dont take out of context - he had the coin thrown at him first - i know it cant justify his actions cos hes a mega paid superstar footballer

cant blame him for returning the coin - he will get fined and banned 3 matches - but i hope they are not too harsh on him
#6
Shouldn't be banned....Burnley scum should be fined and the Burnley fan banned !

lifetime ban. He's a cheatin tw@.

He should not be banned. He was dealt with by the ref and given a yellow card. The FA should only act on incidents not seen by the ref.

But he should have been dealt with by the police and it should have been there and then. He commited a criminal act and should be punished. If I had thrown a coin into a crowd of people, I would have been arrested. Whether I was "at work" or not.

It annoys me that football players can go round punching each other on the pitch and the police just stand and watch. If I punch someone, I get carted away in handcuffs and probably banned from the ground.

Why cant I punch someone and the police say, you are naughty boy, here is a red card. Off you go now. But you can come back in 3 weeks time and all is forgiven.

Doesn't matter who did what first. He is a highly paid professional role model who should be setting an example to kids. He should not have thrown the coin or flicked the middle finger etc. There were kids in the crowd who would have witnessed this.

Using your logic then it was ok for Eric Cantona to attack a fan because he abused his mother first. :-D

He should be banned and fined half as much as the coward who threw the coin in the 1st place.

However, had he used the coin like I did when a Chelsea fan threw it at me he would have been thought more of.
I bought a burger with coins thrown at me by Chelsea nobs! lol

Sorry, i didnt realise he threw it directly at the person who threw it at him. I thought he just lobbed it in the general direction of a crowd where it couldve hit an innocent person in the eye.
#13
im a united fan so would love him to get banned but it would be totally unjustified,
he wasnt acting malicously they threw coins at him he threw one back it was childish at best

You are 100% correct. Jamie Carragher was sent off at the time and was given a 3 match ban. But he wasn't making hand gestures etc also. These guys are getting paid fortunes and the only way to hurt them is by stopping them playing. Its ok saying fine him 100 grand etc but thats a weeks wage to them.

I say its time to make an example and give him a big ban so other players think twice about it in the future.

agreed, have some rep:thumbsup:
#18
shouldn't be banned, burnley threw it at him.

Although he will get banned, i don't think it is moral.
#19
he shouldnt get a ban

at the end of the day a footballer or not, the person who threw the coin should be banned for all games forever, whether drogba chucked it back or not.
#21
He will more than likely get 3 match ban, same as Carragher did. Alan Smith, then of Leeds, threw a bottle at Man U fans and got a 2 match ban.

The people saying the fan threw it first, two wrongs don't make a right, and if caught, the fan will be banned from the ground for a lot longer than 3 games.

drogba is to be booted out of the country

any non-residents with the disrespect for authority like this should be booted the same

The days of TWTWTW, The Day Today and Not The Nine O'Clock News are sadly behind us since the 'lowest common denominator' no longer get the jokes.

And he should probably get a 4 match ban - would've been easier if the ref gave him a red card rather than getting that decision wrong. Same goes for Ballack - you touch a ref you get a red.

Shouldn't we start with the RESIDENTS that are like him?
Chavs, Ross, Brand, thieving MP's.
Tbh, I prefer HIM to any of those.

And I don't even support his Cockney team!

Ross and Brand are two of the countries premier entertainers. They're beloved by many.

And Chelsea aren't cockneys.

Just like to point out this has got nothing to do with the fa, it's uefa that will ban him as it happened during thier competition :)
