I have been healthy eating and doing regular walking since mid september and have lost 2 stone 3 pounds. I have done so many diets before but this really has been the easiest and I have denied myself nothing at all. Its true what they say- everything in moderation and regular exercise( treated myself to a treadmill)

thanks so much for the link i will have a look in a sec! :-)

I agree with not denying yourself anything, my friend at work is doing the Rosemary Connelly diet and the food allowance isnt enough to feed a sparrow! for example she can have 12 grapes a day! you tell me i can only have 12 im going to want 15 and so that why im thinking just eat healthy with exercise and i might stick to it. I did the Cambridge diet a while ago and i was so ill, it just wasnt enough to keep me going!

Well done on the weight loss!!

Diet is the key, just eat healthy, and exercise will help shed those pounds! There are tons of ways of shedding the fat just find the right way of doing so, one diet may work for x and may not work for you, find out what's right for you and stick with it!

best way. am trying to do same as just had a baby 5 days ago... not going to diet quiet yet as need to get energy back. i did that last time and ended up messing up my hormones big time and losing nothing as body wasnt ready. jus gonna be sensible and stay away from too many treat products.

Let me know how your vibrating plate works out for you- I'm thinking of buying one but not too sure how much to spend cos I've heard the cheapest ones only vibrate up to your knees!
I've ruined my diet- lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks but had a chinese takeaway tonight- oops! Back on the wagon tomorrow :(

I hate all these stupid fad-diets. They are not needed. Its obvious if you take in 500 cals a day you will start to loose weight, but it will not be sustained weight loss, it will come back on.

The best thing to do is get in a routine. Get breakfast in you first thing, then control your portions through out the day. Combine this with lots of cardio, and some weights and you will get it in no time at all. Dont go crazy with carbs, and if you are going to go for pasta and bread, choose wholewheat over white.

I dont eat like im on a diet, I still have an indian or a pizza in the week, but I make sure that I offset it with excersize.

I dropped from 14 stone, to currently 11stone 11lbs by doing the above. I am active 6 days a week either running, swimming, boxing or free weights. I've gone from 25%+ body fat and a scary BMI figure to closer to 10% body fat and a perfect BMI. I am now toned, physically fit, more confident and feel great about myself.

It drives me crazy when I see these stupid celb diets, like Eat a bowl of soap a day, or low carb/GI diets.... grrrrrrrrr

Oh, also I used www.fatsecret.com/ when i first started my healthy eating as it helped me track my cal/fat/protein intake, dont know if it is any good for you?

Nicola, if you want a hand creating a food and training plan, feel free to drop me a PM and I am sure we can work on something.

hmmm that just blatenently looks like i am spamming, so i should point out the above site is nothing to do with me at all. Just something i've used before!

Me and the missus would both reccomend Weightwatchers points diet. Once you have joined and got all the books etc you don't have to keep paying to go to the meetings, just do it at home. The good thing with the WW points is it really is just about healthy eating as points are based on a combination of calories and saturated fat. I lost 4 stone in 6 months doing it and exercising (I was 19st+ and went down to 16st) and the weight stayed off. I don't have to work out points anymore as my eating habits changed completely on this diet. So I would say very good diet if you want a long term change rather than quick weight loss. But for good wight loss at the beginning you have to stick to your pints allowance rigidly.

Hiya!
Not long till my diet starts! eek!
Scottee thanks for the help, its muchly appreciated!
Iv chose my diet dress
http://www.additionsdirect.co.uk/rf/add/p.do/lurex-flower-maxi-dress?Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&SNtt=holly+willouby&groupId=658521092&Nu=this_product&SNtk=generic_search&Np=1&SN=104+85&Ntt=658521092&D=658521092&Ntk=group_search&Dx=mode%2bmatchall&thisprod=658521092&Nty=1&Mis_item_id=15&Mis_item_loc_id=1&product=658521092

And im ordering it a few sizes smaller so hopefully i can get into it by september!

I start Gym on the 2nd feb, which im quite looking forward to and i brought my exercise kit the other day but im not loving sports bras! they are hideous!
But hey ho, better then being hit in the face by a nunga nunga on the treadmill!

Iv not yet orderd the vibrating plates because i cant decide which to go for because i dont want to spend too much but at the same time dont want one that just makes my knees knock!

Iv also got 2 workout dvds, katie price which i havent looked at yet and the ministry of sound one, and if the ministry of sound one doesnt improve my weight it will DEFFO improve my sexual tendancies as from what i watched, theres alot of gyrating! must make sure curtains are shut when i do that workout!

Anyway thanks for your help and support!

Hmmmm but what are the benefits of these.... is it for your bum? I cant see how its going to make much difference. You will get the same results doing some squats every day, and thats free! Personally, I'd spend the money on a treadmill and a good set of dumbells.

Remember to increase your water intake if you are increasing your activity. When excersizing, dont drink just when you are thirsty, its important to keep yourself hydrated all the time. It might be best to increase your protein intake (chicken/turkey etc) as you don't want to damage muscle.

I assume your gym will begiving you a small physica, at minimum a blood pressure test.

(Oh, and Holly Willoughby.... *drrooooooooooooooool*)

How crap is it to have to read all the packaging when doing my weekly shop! I must admit it was quite shocking looking at stuff that i thought was healthy like juices that are actually full of calories and the things that i eat regularly are so high in calories! i nearly fainted just looking at a pack of chewits!
Yesterday i got a few weightwatchers meals from Iceland as there on special and today il go to Tesco when iv cleared my cupboards out to get lots of rabbit food!
I brought the Argos cross trainer yesterday for 60 quid, its actually not that bad if anyone was wondering, i was a bit unsure with it being so cheap but its actually ok!
Feeling a bit nervous now that its now or never!
Just in the middle of joining that fatseret website!
By the way, im a bit unsure whether to do like a weightwatchers point system or just watch my calories, has anyone done the weightwatchers point counting?

Yea I started packet reading, but im not so strict any more. i just tend to stay away from the hugely bad food, I still tend to have a choc bar every day, but I know I can work it off in the evening. With teh weightwaters meals, you might want to take a look at things like salt, because you'd be supprised how much there can be in them sometimes

As for the cross trainer, as long as it does the job and its safe, thats all good. I used to love the cross trainer in the gym, but now I only use the treadmill

Thought id update on my diet!

So far iv lost 1 stone and 4 pounds since Feb 1st! Not bad!

I think i deffo deserve an easter egg!

Well done! I gave up smoking this month and have piled a few pounds on, but I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself. Diet starts after Easter I think, then I'll still have a few months before the summer holiday.
Keep up the good work xxx
