I've been led to believe it's more to do with the car seat bases they both fit into. Cabriofix can only fit into the one base and is a stage one car seat, so when you move onto Stage 2 the base is surplus to requirements. The Pebble (stage 1) fixes onto a base which can be used on a selected Stage 2 seat,(think it's called Pearl) so your base can be used for longer.

I have the familyfix isofix base and it fits cabriofix, pebble and pearl so the above is not 100% true.

The only difference I could see was £25... (and the fact it's not easy to find buggy adapters for the pebble)

wow - i posted this 3 months ago!!

I now have a Maxi Cosi that isn't either the Pebble or Carbiofix!

Its an old one that doesn't fit in a base at all!

I'm not taking all the blame, I'd say it was mostly marevo66's fault.
