same game inside - will only affect trade-in value if you want to flog it later

No difference at all. When a game first comes out, it's full price (£30-£40), and the best games that keep selling for a long time eventually get a price reduction and are packaged as 'Platinum'. It's Sony's way of saying "this is a classic, but it ain't the latest game out".

Nothing.

Not necesarily they sometimes have updates and bug/crash fixes or added content but most of the time its just minor bug fixes.

Most platinum games are ones that have been out a while and they are just trying to get last few quid out the title before its obsolete

Some buyers will run screaming like little girls when they find out they almost had a platinum game in their precious collection

when you play a game over time, you download a number of updates (when connecting to the network). These are sometimes bundles with the platinum version...

...but mainly they are just the same with new covers!

Not in this day and age. That is what game updates are for and PSN store for PS3.

Seems crazy that only a few years ago if a game had a bug then that was that, now it's just a simple update.

No Mercy on the N64 Lol

Had to take it back to the shop and wait for the new batches to be sent to the shop!
