Right, I went to the dealer to buy my self a new car, a BMW 2004 3 Series however he has now offered me a BMW 2004 5 Series for an extra £2.5K.

Is this a good deal?

They are both in good condition and have done simular amount of miles.

What should I do?

best bet is to check the insurance out on both first.plus dont think anyone can tell you if its a good deal without a price and mileage.

Try & beat him down a bit more - at least another £500 off - then go with that if its got all the same bits & bobs!
#4
if you can afford it, go for the 5 series..
#5

I don't know. I don't think RR's are very classy. They are also too common.

By 'common' I don't mean chav or anything like that. There are just loads of them round my area and nearly every Premier League footballer has one. I have my own style. I'm not a follower.

And BMW's aren't!!!
Do you want a 5 series? What size engines, what spec etc...

I aggree that they are very popular - I bought a Grand Cherokee which is great, less money & way less common - sorry popular!:p
I do aggree that they are safer though thats why we wanted one to be charriot for our little girl.
What about an X3 (with body coloured bumpers obviously!)?

Yeah, I think I would like a 5 Series. But is it worth the extra cash?

It was a 520i and I think it was a 2.2L.
#16
Good luck insuring them
#17
Hi
No one can say without seeing them both(condition).

I have a 5 Series 523se (old shape).

Excellent car for power and comfort ,so go for the 5 if possible.

It's true what they say :- The ultimate driving machine.

Insurance £200, full comp but I am 60 Ha Ha.

Good luck.

just to let u know, i dont know what engine is in the 3 series, but the 5 will be very heavy on fuel. you will prob get about 24 around town.

saying that, the 5 series has alot more equipment as standard. you get a screen and the idrive thing which is quite cool.

plus the 5 series is a bigger car, and more classy I think.

whats the engine and spec on the 3er?

he can get insurance on this, but tis going to cost you a bomb m8, on my bmw 323i @ 19 it was still a £1000, that was considering i had 3 cars previous and had made no claims, can you not go for something like a nice vw golf, or better still @ 17 whats wrong with an oyster card and a weekly bus pass :)

my first bmw at the age of 19 cost me £1200 under a parents insurance. On my own it was about £3500 at the cheapest.

My bmw was only a 316 Auto (1.9 engine) - and was insurance group 14. the 325i is probably insurance group 16/17 as is the 5 series.

Are you really willing to throw away this sort of money to insure this car?

Why dont you buy a BMW Mini? Fast, good looking, bmw technology etc. you will probably get a much better mini than bmw. with the money that is.

I already have a Ford Focus and I feel it's time for a change.
