Dilemma! Which game to buy next for the Xbox 360?

Hi all,

Lets say I have a budget of £20 - £30 and I'm looking for a new game. Whats hot and whats not? I've considered;

1. GTA (looks good, not played it since 1998 and its going for £17)
2. Command and Conquer Red Alert (I loved Red Alert back in the day)
3. Resident Evil 5 (Res Evil 4 on the Wii is amazing, though the demo sucks)
4. Halo Wars

I am currently addicted to Cod 4, but I must try something else to get into and just to see what my Xbox is capable of!

Thoughts?

GTA is great value and an amazing game!

Agree with Toybhoy... GTA is a great game particularly as you haven't played it since 1998 so have no pre conceptions.

I'm thinking the same, its a great price so will save me some £. Plus the demo of Res Evil is really poor, which is a shame as Res Evil 4 on the Wii blew me away! (not literally)

Also GTA IV is £7.99 pre-owned in Blockbusters if your local has any left. :)

If you havent played a GTA since 1998 then you will be blown away by the sheer detail this game goes into. If you are strapped for cash then this game offers the best value with about 40 hours gameplay for campaign and loads more depending on what you do. I say you can easily be entertained for 70 plus hours

Lost and the Damned. It's 1600 points and a seperate game in it's own right and worth every penny. :)

Edit - Forgot to add......you must have the GTA IV disc to play it though

Surely that depends on what you already have. I enjoy first-person combat games, and the best I have ever played is Call of Duty 4. After that, Mass Effect and Fallout 3. Gears of War also ranks very highly in my book.

I'm well into COD4, tho I'd like to give something else a try. Red Alert back in 96' (I haven't played many games or a console in a long long time ;)) had me addicted, so I thought of the most recent in that series.

I wouldn't bother with Red Alert, it's not exactly built for a console. From that list I'd go with GTA, at least until I'd seen how Res turns out (could be ****).

Get Dead Space you won't regret it.

I was completely addicted to Command and Conquer and Red Alert when they were originally released for the PC. And of course they were in turn spin-offs from Dune and Dune 2. In fact, in many ways Dune 2 was better than all of them. But I always had my doubts that C&C and RE would translate to a console so I never bought one.

Glad to hear that COD4 is giving you pleasure. I was so disappointed to see that COD5 went back to the boring WWII theatre, with its limited range of weapons and dull scenarios. I have been told that they alternate between authoring groups, so the next one should be modern theatre of war and interesting toys that go bang.

GTA is fab if you havent played for so long. Good value for gameplay time aswell.

Online is also quite fun, good mess around.

Hope you get what your looking for.

Yep I'm looking forward to that one. I think I will opt for GTA - Where's the cheapest? I have about £20 to spend but I think it's on Play.com for £18, any cheaper than that anywhere else?

There is little to no chance of finding it at this price now, I think very few people have done as it would meen someone trading it in for around £4 and with the new content out now theres not many people getting rid of it....
It sells for £13+ on here normaly and would def recommend it, great game.

GET BRAID! It's an awesome game. It's available to download on the arcade games. Try the demo, it's awesome. It's a puzzle solving game where you've got to collect pieces that you need in order to progress but you need to alter time to do it. It's visually stunning also.
