I recently changed the direct debit details for my mobile phone contract from my bank account to my wife's bank account.
When I log in to my mobile phone online account, I can see the updated details. But, the direct debit details are not showing in my wife's bank account. We can't see any direct debit set-up when we log-in to internet banking for her bank account. There are no direct debits set up on her account.
On the other side, my bank account still shows the direct debit from the mobile operator in the list for direct debits.
Is there a need for my wife to contact her bank and ask them to set-up the direct debit manually?
Should the mobile phone company notify us by post or send a confirmation by post, if there are any changes in the direct debit details.
The mobile phone company's CS says that the DD has been set up from their side and the money will be taken from my wife's account on the date mentioned on DD.
