OK, serious post, then.

Given that the packages are actually seperate items i.e. PS3 + game ( + game2, if applicable) then why are so many people being denied delivery of their PS3 when the PS3/Motorstorm/Sonic package are showing on Empires website as In Stock? :x

I think Empire Stores cocked up at the start. :-(

managed to get my customer number to check online and it's showing as unavailable with no delivery date quoted. Full price is quoted too but will cross that bridge if/when they charge me incorrectly. Strange thing is that the pack is showing as available if you bring it up for a new purchase. Me thinks they are relying on us to lose patience and cancel orders by keeping us waiting long enough. Not in any hurry so will play their game for the time being.

charged full price on your credit card. you can ring them and tell them that you have a confirmation and it was before it was made a cloverleaf item.

Smudge did they not tell you yesterday that your PS3 would not be despatched until 27th April or was that someone else? Have they actually taken £599.99 from you?
#14
Well, recieved the email today that the item is being dispatched and can expect it sometime next week, which means I'll have to phone the local company to re deliver as I'll be at work and they can't specify a date.

As for the price, they charged me the full £599.99 but after a quick phone call the lady appologised and said that the amount will be refunded now and I've asked for a confirmation email letting me know it was done.

The email clearly ignores any mention of controllers so I won't battle that as the rest of you seem to be having no luck.

Yes & Yes....guess I'll call them when it arrives if I dont get an email response
#16
lol this is getting more and more absurd by the minute, recieved email this morning thanking me for another payment for £599.99 WTF?? and that my PS3 has now been despatched when I was told yesterday that they had no stock until 27th April!!!

For gods sake will have to ring them again today!!! they have already taken payment for £359.99 are these guys seriously nuts!!!

I think what's causing some of the issues is that they are one of those companies that have never quite 'gotten to grips' with the web.

They seem to be running two systems, one that the CS has access to (presumably legacy software) and a seperate web operation (I dunno if this is third-party or what) anyhoo.. these two rarely 'talk to each other' - their online system seems to update between 23:30 and 00:00 with details from the day before (which again, I'm assuming is only included up to a certain time on the day before).

In short, only until you actually receive a statement from them, do you really know what's supposed to have gone on in the prior month.

I doubt anyone has received their statement yet (they are usually only due out around the 20th of the month) so it will be interesting (possibly scary) to see what these show.

Again, fingers crossed for those with issues - if calling CS, do try and stay calm and reasonable - do by all means gain sympathy and highlight the failings in their systems, but if possible take this from a human perspective onto a 'systems' perspective and this may result in a more helpful 'sympathetic' agent.

*I said 'may' - lol

Good advice Dave. Thanks. It's always best to be really calm and reasonable in these situation - being aggressive will get nowhere.

I ordered the Sonic pack on Wednesday (4/4) before it went cloverleaf.

I just called them up today complaining that I have been charged the full amount £649 despite having confirmation emails etc. Spoke to 2 people and they are saying that the ps3 is ineligible, is a cloverleaf etc etc. I argued it wasnt cloverleaf and I applied the code properly. I emailed them a screenshot of the basket showing the lower price saying they wernt authorised to take the money. They 2 people cant do anything except pass my concern to their "internet" dept and await their reply.

The ps3's been dispatched and their final advice was that I shouldnt open the box when I get it in case I need to return it. Doesnt bode well.

I ordered mine last Tuesday, they messed up the payment, re did this on thursday of last week, been told its being dispatched by several CS people this week then ive just been told 2-4 weeks, its a total farce

I always find that rather than demanding results if you are friendly and explain the situation and treat them like a human being just doing their job you will get better results than blasting at them from the go and demanding you feel you are owed.

To get my money back this morning I was xfered twice and both times i was polite to the point of being bubbly (something I'm not in RL but do on the phone as I know it works) and they were all very helpful.

Keep this in mind when dealing with them and you may get results alot easier.
#22
I don't know about everyone else but when I placed my order (wed) I got a conformation saying that due to the bank holidays it WILL be delivered in 5-7 working days.

I know people get impatient especially if your like me and haven't heard anything after the first e-mail (which is pretty bad when your handing over £360 to them). I am just going to be patient though as by my accounts 5-7 working days is between Fri 13th and Tue 17th. If I haven't received anything by Tuesday night I will then be getting impatient myself as they haven't fulfilled the order.

Im going to ring them when i get home...did they at any point say you would have to pay full price?? When did you order it? What shall i say?

HELP....:-(

After reading this and the other post, I think it's Empires inconsistency that I find baffling.
Some people received the PS3 pretty fast and some haven't received anything yet..
Some people have been charged the full price and some haven't.

Good post by Dave #18, I agree.

im going to cancel and pay full price from a shop, i don't need this hassle of incompetence

@smudge_14 : I recieved an email stating the order had been processed and was being dispatched. The price was for the full amount.

I phoned them up and kindly explained the situation to the first CS and she put me onto their 2nd line. Once again I explained it and they quoted me some bogus code for £10 off and I said I didn't use that one and quoted the code we all used. She checked it and said it has now been applied and the money will be reimburesed.

With companies like this I'm guessing this will take a few hours atleast and won't be processed till tonight or tomorrow morning.

Be calm, explain to them what they missed and give them the code, they should apply it straight away and will take a day or two for the money to come back. Most importantly, take a name (and if you can extention) so that you can quote this to the next person if it all goes tits up.

I paid by debit card...I've checked my empire account online and it says the full amount has been taken out no mention of a refund.

I've sent empire an email..no reply as of yet

Guys and gals, Had some good news for my order. Empire had originally contacted me stating that I couldn't use my work/business address and for me to re-submit the order (presumably at full price). I emailed them yesterday stating I'd rather just change my delivery address than re-order. I've just received an email back stating...

"Thank you for your reply,

I have now passed your order to the relevant department to be processed, you will receive your order as soon as we get stock,

Claire Brennan"

Looks promising to me ( I ordered a Wii, so no stock at the minute) ..may be useful to those others of you that have almost come a cropper for using a business/work address to place your order. I note that I also mentioned that I had checked the terms and conditions at the time of ordering (which I did) (as I've had problems before having stuff bought on credit card and delivered to a different address) but there is nothing in their terms and conditions that specifies that delivery will only be made to your credit card address.

Right just phoned them got put through to somebody in sales to recheck the order.
Still totally confused in all true honesty but this it what she told me.

The order basically went through twice, once over the internet on 3rd April and again over the phone on 5th April, an extra payment was taken on 5th April for £359.99 that was credited to my account and another order for the PS3 at full price for £599.99 was placed.

My despatch email today and payment for £599.99 was for the PS3 order placed on 5th April that’s why I have been charged £599.99 again, CS supervisor worryingly rechecked order and code and told me after a few ‘hold pleases’ that the discount code will be reapplied to the phone order to get PS3 at £359.99, and the £599.99 refunded back to me.

So what of my £359.99 credit already on my empire account? Still not sure about what happens to this? Does this get refunded to my CC and they take a new payment for £359.99 or do I get refunded £599.99 back and nothing further to pay?

I’m glad that I used my CC for what has turned out to be a complete mess of an order.
