definately.

awful decision

He body checked a player, why even chance doing that when you're already booked?

Yes the guy made the most of it, taste of their own medicine me thinks.

It doesn't matter how good Kaka is, you can't assault people like that and get away with it.
#5
Not a chance of fifa recinding the card though. They say the referee desicion is always final.
#6
it was just ridiculous! spoils football stupid play acting like that
#7
hardly innocent, yes the guy made a meal of it and he didn't go near his face but what he did warranted a yellow card which is what he got, why do it at all?
#8
Agreed'.
There was no intent with that, and the Ivoarian's are just plain idiots.
Hopefully, Kaka wont be made to suffer, and will have the ban overturned.
#9
Fifa wont change decision
#10
he didnt look behind him though, he was just walking normally and moving his arms into his body, the first yellow was dubious too.

No chance of it being recinded, two yellows cant be changed!

Blatant bodycheck - the frustration of a rubbish year coming out in an assault.

If you did that on the street you'd be nicked:x

Kaka didnt go running towards Keita. It was the other way around. That wasnt a yellow card.

if someone was running at you youd stick your arm out like he did and he only put it out he didnt swing it

It was a second booking and I'm sure FIFA will do the right thing and uphold a 1 match ban for the cheat - shame because he used to be a quality player, but a bad season has seen him resort to common assault.

Exactly. If the referee had seen it he wouldnt have booked Kaka. Keita would have been lucky to not be booked. He had metres either side of Kaka.

Absolutely appalling.

IC player should have been looking where he was going, If someone walks into a lamp-post the lamp post doesn't body-check them.

Cheat? Nah.............

Kaka body checked the poor Ivory Coast player, sending a shockwave up his body causing whiplash.

Disgraceful assault, at least a 3 match ban.

It was only a matter of time that someone was sent off. Kaka has been shocking so far in the tournament anyway,

Besides, I've seen people sent off for less last season.
#27
Well It was a little soft, but if you look at the angle of his arm he does move his elbow into the players chest. Watching the replay I think the 4th official advised the ref.

I'm wanting to know if FIFA will looking to banning Luis Fabiano for lieing to the ref? Bringing the game into disrepute in my book.
#28
body checked and knocked to the ground, which warrants a yellow card, the play acting was disgraceful but kaka deserved the red
#29
Kaka had a good game-set up 2 goals. He should not have been sent off-he was walking away from the IC player who ran into him and to protect himself he put out his arm as anyone would. Very poor referee-allows a goal involving 2 handballs and is duped into sending off an innocent player-French apparantly, need we say more!

lol, did you even see it? he did not "put out his arm to protect himself"
he could see Keita (who was watching the ball) coming and blatantly shoved his shoulder into the player. ie: a body check. If he was trying to protect himself he would have moved or just put his hand out.

I'd like to see another angle to what contact Kakas shoulder made. But it does look like dreadful play acting on Keitas behalf.

Yup, waiting for people to bite,

It was never a yellow card. The Ivory Coast player ran into Kaka, and he wasn't watching where he was going. Kaka only lifted his arm up to protect himself when the guy clattered into him, just a natural reaction.

That said, there's no way fifa will rescind the ban, they'd have to admit the referee was wrong (and hence fifa are wrong) to do that....
#33
At the end of the day Brazil are through, it's no biggie that Kaka won't play next match, he gets a rest, might do him a favour. lol
#35
Keita deliberately ran into Kaka then lied about being hit in the face.

It's now time that TV evidence is used in football the way it is used in rugby. The old 'disrupting the flow of the game' argument against video evidence no longer holds water - look at the number of stoppages during this WC series and how few times the advantage rule has been used. It also means that refs will not be under the same pressure to make instant judgements.

This kind of blatant cheating should result in a life ban for the perpetrator and a ten year FIFA ban for the national team. And that would include France for the 'hand of vavavoom' incident against the Irish.

At club level, the team of the player who cheats like this should be penalised by losing 9 points.

That sort of tough action would see this kind of playacting stopped immediately.

Rant over.

Disgraceful, Kaka is innocent.

That's better. When I first read the title it seemed like you thought Kaka was the disgraceful one.

OMG just saw it now hopefully the other guy gets a ban

I shall have to remember to turn myself in to the local constabulary next time somebody walks into me in the street. :p
