I've been shopping on the US version of the DisneySite for years. Every Christmas I spend hundreds of pounds on it. The UK version of the site is poor and lacks content.

However, I can't even get on to the US version of the site now. They are redirecting all non-us IP's to the appropraite site (despite still offering international shipping on the US site).

I can use a Proxy to access the US site but will not input card details over a proxy.

Any ideas how to get around this and logon to the Disney US site?

Why have they done this?! It has never been a problem before.

Can't have been.

I placed an order with them last Christmas and thena gain in March. It was fine then, and it was fine when I was deciding what to buy around 2 weeks ago.

I'll have to contact them but I don't think they are going to be too helpfulk considering this is obviously a tergeted move. Weird since they still allow international shipping even as I type this.

what about one of those programs that hides your IP address... ?

Yeah. They used to use UPS, which was great. The Customs value was always low, but not they use DHL who demand payment on the door and seem to make up their own little charges out of nowhere. My advice if you want to keep it low is to order 'smaller' items so they can all go together in a box - DHL loves to OVERcharge for multiple boxes and heavy items. I wish they still used UPS.

The link above (http://www.disneystore.com/us_store) takes me to what looks like the US store as everything is in dollars - I can't quite get to the checkout stage as you need a login.

I got a second email off Disney this morning.

Told me that I couldn't access the US site outside the US for 'LEGAL REASONS'.

Funny that this contradicts the email I got from them (posted earlier in the thread).

But the main link appears to be working again now anyway.

Weird really isn't it?
