Someone I know has asked me to help them, they have accidentally subscribed to 12 months at datingdirect website. This was while trying to cancel the automatic renewal after a 1 month trial, the website is confusing and they ended up paying for years subscription.
We have sent 3 emails to them with strange responses coming back. They seem to be half automated resonses with a real persons name at the bottom.
We have asked the bank what they can do but they said the payment was pending so they couldn't do anything, now this morning it has shown up as taken from the account.
It was paid for by switch and I don't know much about distance selling laws apart from what I have read on here - do they cover subscriptions or just goods?
We can't find a phone number for them anywhere?
any ideas if there is anything else we can do?
