Are DSG the worst company ever to deal with, let me share this with you to see if you think its ridiculous aswell:

I ordered a tv from dixons website £299, good deal. The site said they would get back to me in the next few days to confirm which of the delivery dates I selected would be possible (a friday and saturday).

I receive no further contact, so I waited until saturday to phone them. I had naively thought because I'm buying a larger item they may co-ordinate in some way with the delivery company and only contact me on the day of delivery.

Anyway the guy on the phone checked my order and informed me that it got "stuck in processing" he said he would fix that now for me. I was slightly disappointed because it would probably take another week to get the tv (i had no tv, the old one stopped working). After holding for a bit he came back and told me that unfortunately the tv was now out of stock and they weren't expecting it back in for at least a few weeks. I asked about possibly picking one up in store at the same price, totally forgetting Dixons no longer have physical stores. He put me on hold again, but came back with good news, there was one left at the same price in a Currys store about 20mins away. So that was great, he reserved it and refunded my online Dixons order. I thanked him and went to the store.

Soooo I get to the store, give them my reservation number. After ages the guy comes back and tells me that they have the tv but its the last one and its quite badly damaged. So again slightly annoyed I ask if any other store has the TV, he talks to a colleague and checked on a computer. At this point I overhead him say the wrong model number, so I question that. It seems the Dixons guy on the phone reserved me the wrong TV, which is the same make but not as good. I explained what had happened, what TV I wanted and what price I was paying with Dixons.

So it seems they do have the TV I want in stock but £35 more expensive, I explained I wasn't very impressed with the whole process and I'd appreciate it if they honoured the Dixons price. Of course he gave me a combination of the not price matching websites and not actually being the same company as Dixons excuses. So I gave up and bought the TV.

I got home and phoned Dixons to complain, after ages of explaining to them that they are the same company and that if they can reserve a TV from Currys for me they can surely refund the £35 they relented. I provided receipt details and they were to send me vouchers to match the price.

Well that was about 6 weeks ago, I got a voicemail this week saying they need bank details because they are actually refunding and not sending a voucher.

But the annoying thing is I just checked my bank statement, they never refunded the original £299, so I have given DSG £635ish for this TV lol

I'm waiting until 9 to phone them....

sent partners laptop back as 1 key came off (pc world tech guys wouldnt help me get it fixed i had to return)i even taped it to the laptop!

anyway came back 5 keys missing and a note all fixed!!
spoke to cs they said send again

got back with a note wont fix customer damaged....
took ages to get this over to a cs as they didnt want to listen...i told them i had a witness as the courier saw it and said he would also tell them.
Eventually they repaired-i pushed for a new one as it took 3 weeks to resolve but no chance without me involving ts and hassle...would never recommend them...

tell them it sent you overdrawn and you need to pay bank charges too!

I was lucky to get the £35 lol, blood from a stone.....

They suck so badly, I wonder where the other 4 keys went.

I considered the overdraft thing, but it might make me seem a little foolish for not noticing sooner. Its internet bankings fault, I never check statements anymore.

Dixons / Currys are pretty good for goodwill refunds in my experience (ie: they actually provide them).

after all that you accept someone saying "we'll phone you back" no wonder they've taken you for a ride mate

sounds about right.

tho DSG own both stores, they are run separately.
Dixons is there to compete with the likes of Amazon etc as a web only retailer and Currys/PC world have the stores.

I dont see why this is so hard to grasp. lots of places have cheaper online prices that they won't honour instore (HMV for example), but at least with DSG their online store is online ONLY.
Currys and PC worls sites often have exclusive web prices that can be reserved in store and collected, but overall their web and store prices are the same

I know they don't price match, its the fact they fluffed up. Thats why I asked them to honour the price in store, he brought up price matching which is not what I asked for. They co-ordinated to reserve me a tv, they can do the same to honour the price!!

he's phoned me back twice now, the £30 is fine but they're having problems with the £299

Problems with the £299???? Surely that should have been the easiest bit.

thats what you get buying from them.
Buy from somewhere like john lewis, get the 5 year guarantee, good customer service IMO.

Or Costco.
