Can anyone give me some advice on the best and cheapest way to install a 12m handrail up a driveway (relatively steep) so an elderly person can get up and down it easier? There is an 18" flower bed at the side and I was going to use Metposts and 75mm sq vertical fenceposts with a decking handrail attached onto the tops. The bottom post could be anchored into brick but the others would all be free-standing. Would this be secure enough? Or any other suggestions? I cannot fix it onto the block paved driveway as cars still need to get up it.

each post needs to be either bolted to the concrete or set into the ground like a fencepost, i am not a fan of the spiked end metposts though, i dont find them secure

id use the ones you can bolt at the bottom, and into the driveway concrete, but you have to borrow an sds hammer drill or you will be there all day with a normal diy drill

your idea is right, and about the cheapest to do, it needs to be fully secure, as it is surprising how much force there is on a handrail
