Hello,

I am thinking of buying a garden room from homebase ie;

http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=7052219&Trail=searchtext>GARDEN+ROOM

Anyone used a good DIY person in the area of e16 london.
Any advice on how much you think it will cost to install the garden room.
Any advice would be of great help.

Hi DAYNA

I am an excellent DIY person, but a Walthamstow is a little too far down the road for me. :)
I would guess that it would cost around £150 to erect the "Garden room".

You have also posted this in the wrong forum, it should be in "Misc".

That's a rough guesss, you should alway ask before purchase if you intend to buy something that you know you can't assemble yourself.

The price of the item is irrelevant, I had someone call me to assemble a £2 bread bin once, it cost him an extra £5.

U sure it will withstand high winds ? It doesn't look very strong to me ? :?

My neighbour has had a garden room for 10 years without any problems, plus we have high walls.
If it going to be so expensive to have it installed i will not bother to buy one.
Thanks for the advice.

Why not contact someone to get an estimate? I am a rip-off merchant, and charge as much as I can get away with.

You may find an honest person out there. :)

Do you have a flat base to put it on eg patio? if not that will add significantly to the cost. Your best bet is to try and get Homebase to estimate how long it takes to erect. Then find out some hourly rates from local handymem (they usually have adverts in the free local advertising leaflets.

:thumbsup: Yes, we have a flat base, its alright estimating how long it will take, it depends on how slow the person is, ever tried putting a set of draws together:-Dit always takes twice as long as it should do.
