Do you feel sorry for illegal immigrants?

Just want to know what the majority thought on the matter is?

One officer at customs stated he felt sorry for children of deported Illegal immigrants.

Other officers however had no remorse. Was interesting to listen to actually.

So guys, do we have any sympathy or not? I think we would probably do the same, right?

Depends on the case.........can't judge them all in their entirety as each individual is different.

NO I have to pay my way so should they!

Depends on the "story" behind the individual case.

I feel for some yes. It's the system that's messed up.

I feel sorry for some of them, but not the people that come here to get free NHS, free education, free housing. Australia have the right idea with the points system to get in.

What do points make? Prizes!

Its a job. You need to detach yourself and appreciate you are dealing with people who shouldn't be here. Who know, they shouldn't be here and hopefully won't be here for much longer.

If they cant detach themselves, they are in the wrong job.

Sounds like a great job tbh.

I think the question has been answered in the question, they have been declared as illegal and so should really say thank you for trying to accept me and now I'll be on my way.

I'm not asking if you think they should be accepted into our country, I'm asking if you feel any sympathy. It would be interesting for us to switch lifes with them for a week. See if any opinions change.

can't say I feel sorry for a majority of them (making up bogus stories to stay)- but some people may have a genuine case.. i know for one that if I was in their position (genuinely in need of asylum or whatever) i'd fight for a place to stay and deffo would not appreciate the very shallow view some posters have bought to light and 'liked':{

EDIT: Just re-read OP. I DO NOT HAVE ANY SYMPATHY FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WOTSOEVER!!! I was thinking along the lines of asylum seekers etc..doh!

Those countries don't give them FREE money/clothes/homes, so they have less interest settling in them

Don’t feel sorry for the people that take advantage of the system makes my blood boil at times I’am out here working like a dog while they relax at home and watch their bank balance rise. But for those who have no choice but to leave then yes I do feel for them especially children they deserve to have the opportunity to go to school have friends and become somebody some day. We should all be appreciative of what we have not always thinking about what someone else has and you don’t!

Who here could say that they wouldn't illegally to get a better life for themselves or their family?

Not in the slightest, all immigrants should first complete 24 months national service hunting Somali pirates in the Indian ocean before their application should even be considered. Any dependents should be kept in suspended animation on a outer hebridean island until their return.

You should feel sorry for the situation of the individual genuine illegal immigrant, not the actual immigrant itself simply as even if their situations are bad, they know the UK is easy on immigrants so come here.

So you wouldn't do the same to seek a better life for you and your family?

The system may be messed up, but they're just people trying to do the best they can.

That sentiment might seem anathema to many on here, which is why employers tend to prefer foreign labour.

Yet people have a problem with benefit claimants trying to do the best they can just because they are on benefits.

People just like to pick and choose what they see as right.

I gotta be honest, I do. After doing tours in Iraq, Kosovo and Bosnia (no Afghan tour) I can see why people would flee these countries. I have no problem with people in genuine fear for their own and families lives seeking asylum here. But I also believe that when a country is safe enough to return to they should be sent home ASAP, unless the have legit reasons to see within Great Britain.

Their country is a state so they come here to ruin ours.

Our benifit system is in a mess, our whole country is in a big finantial mess, and a lot of it is caused by people who shouldn't be here!

Send them back and give the British nationals a chance!

Not all benefit claimants are deserving of derision, but they still had the benefit of a decent education in a country where hard work is rewarded. People would seemingly break the law for that type of opportunity.

I don't think they all come here to 'ruin our country'. I think many just want a better life.

And British nationals have a chance.

No i do not feel sorry for them at all. I feel sorry for the people born and raised in England and are then failed by their own countries system. Poor treatment in elderly care homes, Incompetencies in childrens services, !!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe England should sort their own problems before offering aid and army to other countries! not meaning to offend just my view.
