I got an infraction this morning and now my control panel looks rubbish.

I guess this is my punishment for using bad language.

Yes they do, I think it depends on what it's for as to how long they remain.

We can give a member an infraction based on a post they made, or we can give it directly from their profile. Doesn't really make much difference.

Well, the rep system and the infractions system are all built as a part of the vBulletin forum software and not coded by HUKD!!

Not even the DVLA are this harsh..

At least with them when you've been behaved for a couple of years you have your points taken away...

Looks like your stuck with yours don... Pity you couldn't use them at Tesco's..:)

I'm sure they keep a record of it though, just as we do here. The points have been taken away...

If you receive a warning ("yellow card") then this doesn't give you any points so it will never result in a ban/suspension.

If you receive an infraction ("red card") then you receive a number of points based on the breach of the rules. A certain number of points will land you in a suspension.

Once you have had these points for a certain length of time they are removed - so they do not count towards a ban/suspension.

We do, however, keep a record of the reasons why you ever had to be warned. We need to know if people commit the same offences multiple times, or if this is their first warning, etc. The alternative would just be to give everyone a ban first time and of fixed length no matter how many times they have breached the rules in the past.

It also serves as a little reminder for the future. :)

So wait, I get 1 point for 'insulting' col.

But no points for abusing the reputation system?...
