    A passport is required.

Costs over £71.00 and if this is your first passport you will need to attend an interview.

The confusion is because the regulations state to travel freely as an EU citizen, you need to show that you are from an EU country when you cross a border in the EU.

For most EU citizens you simply need to show your identity card. But as the UK doesn't have one, you are forced to use your passport instead.

Might as well go now, prices will probably treble within the next 10 years, blame the government:oops:.

Go to ireland. You don't need one to go there, No ID on the ferry. Photo ID for plane

Its real big brother stuff these days from nulabour.

I wonder what questions they ask? Might be stupid ones like you get asked when entering the USA such as 'are you intending to let off a nuclear bomb' ;-)

Anyone considering a plane to Ireland without a passport be careful, as some airlines require a passport even if you don't need it to get into the country.

Hardly their fault. Did they train the pilots that fly in to tall buildings?

He he. I got asked "Do you have any blood sausage with you?" I could think of a thousand questions they might have asked. That one totally threw me! Maybe he thinks my blood sausage may be a dagerous weapon!:whistling:

strange how you cant get out of this country without a passport, yet millions have got in without one.
