Yes they do still mark them by franking over on the old style sorting machines and clear mark on the newer style machines. If you hold it up to the light you should see a stripe down the stamp. Some may have been missed or hand sorted but most should be franked.

check it isn't scored. the newer machines actually cut through the stamp to stop you peeling it off whole.
