I have on on each floor at home. I've never had mice etc but they do keep most of the bugs away and they don't bother my cats.

I thought my plug-in repellent was working until we got a rat in! And believe you me I am scared of mice, but the rat nearly drove me out of the house. Council sent Rentokil and he just laughed at the repellent, told me it was a complete waste of money. So unfortunately had to resort to poison.

Hope you get rid of the mice and be careful of your cats if you have to put poison down. However the scent of the cats in the garage might send deter the mice. Or get a Jack Russell! Good luck :)

use traps or they will eat the poison go into a small space and die, then your house/garage will stink and you wont be able to get rid for ages :)
if your bothered about seeing dead ones use them box traps that dont kill them

I had a bad mouse problem, and bought one from qvc called pest magic, it was in my old house and forgot to take it with me just incase, it was brilliant the mice were dead in about a week, the only thing I didn't like was that you didn't know where they had died and had to go looking for them, or I would just find them dead all over the house.
