Lots of the deals were cheap but when you looked closer, weird hours for flights or flights where if you wanted to pick seats etc. you had pay a lot of money (comparatively).

Hotels discounted, often off season or just at the end or start when the iffy weather was could be a problem, Florida, Caribbean etc. Or in worn down hotels or on complexes where the was reconstruction/construction.

Was never really sure if they were all that "value for money" even though they were cheap.

I went first time in 2001 without any kids, it was a long weekend break to Paris with the Mrs, and while there we did Disney for a day, this time we did 2 weeks in Reims and got annual passes, the kids loved it, I was knackered by the end of it lol..

We were pretty lucky because it was so busy that all the rides were at least 1 hour wait, even the smaller ones, but with my youngest being special needs we got a pass that let us walk straight on all the rides for the whole family... the dirty looks were so worth it lol.

I nearly said I wish I had a special needs Grandchild X) I suppose anything like that is a little bit of compensation X)

I don't know why but I only think of Florida when I think of Disney. I've been 7 or 8 times to Florida and I'm sure Paris would feel like a compromise for me. You should try it, I guarantee the kids would enjoy it more. A nice villa with a pool for your days off from the parks, perfect.

So you've spent 3/4 of your life flying too and from Florida?, I don't know if I could manage the flights :(, Bad enough going Canary Island. I would like to go there one day though, I guess it must be worth it :). You can make the same mistake twice but not 7-8 times lol.

Kids love it there. My son is 31 now and he still loves it X) The parks, the villas, the weather, the atmosphere. If you've got kids, I'd say between 7 and 18-ish are the ideal age, then you really should try to get there if you can.

You're right though, the flights is horrible. About 8/9 hours. Not so bad when you're going because you're all excited, still bad enough. Coming back though is a nightmare. Most of the flights are overnight, getting back to UK about 8am and it's the longest 8 hours I've ever experienced. Not so bad if you can relax and sleep but I can't, and it just drags. It's about the only negative though so I put up with it.

I usually book separate, it still isn't a cheap holiday though. I've always got my villa privately via The Dibb. Price depends on what you want really. Last one in 2013 was a luxury 5 bed one which was about £750 a week. It sounds a lot but there were 12 of us there so it works out about £125 pp for the 2 weeks. Flights with Virgin are expensive though, usually around £600 if you have to book in advance like I did. With 12 going you can't be waiting for cheap deals.

This is my main problem, we would go in a heartbeat, but my youngest just about coped with a 4 hour drive to Dover in a car, we had to stay over at dover to break up the drive..

I can imagine how popular I woudl be taking him on a plane while he had a meltdown.. I would be in the Daily Mail lol! so I am hoping that in a few years he may be able to cope with something like that..

Do you go as part of a package or do you book everything seperatly. Roughly what his the cost of the villa, thanks

Thanks for the reply. £750 sounds cheap to be honest, considering I paid £900 for a week in a static caravan in Cornwall oO
Will definitely look into it, thanks

You're not on your own, I sent her a message too and asked if she knew any good offers for Disney with the kids, I too got nothing but silence..
I Thought she was going to be a proper member of Holidaypirates?
Did you find anything, or are you still looking?
Been and gone mate lol..
Was it your first time? Did you enjoy it?
I went first time in 2001 without any kids, it was a long weekend break to Paris with the Mrs, and while there we did Disney for a day, this time we did 2 weeks in Reims and got annual passes, the kids loved it, I was knackered by the end of it lol..

This is the one we stayed in. We went in Sept 2013 and it's £845 for Sept 2017, so I wasn't that for out going back 4 years.

Did you really pay £900 for a week in a caravan? oO

Don't forget though, you have the cost of the flights to add to that, then car hire, theme park tickets etc.

Still, if you can then you should.

Yeah I really did pay that much, it was at haven perranporth in Cornwall. Looking around at that time, £900 wasn't that expensive compared to others oO
That villa looks lovely. The only problem would be I might not want to come back, also I'm petrified of flying. I bet that villa is not worth as much as my flat, what it is to live in London (_;)

Yeah it was lovely. They are a bargain when you compare the cost to hotels. And I've just checked, it's available from 2-18th Sept still, and direct flights with Iberia are coming in at £484 from LHR. Go on lad, you know you want to X)
