Or is it certain routes and/or types of train i.e Pendelino

I normally get National Express but was visiting family and got a cheap first class ticket £1 more than standard class. When I got on I got some coffee as expected but noticed a menu, I assumed it was to purchase food but the person in the table oppposite ordered some and I noticed didnt pay so I asked her and she says its included so I got some, just a roll and slice of cake as its before 4pm but was shocked.

Is this a general thing?

I think if you travel after 4:30pm you get a full meal. Last time I got Sausage and mash. Also the early train provides a full english breakfast which I believe is very good. Please tell me you took advantage of the free alcohol....

Eww full English, I prefer Scottish breakfasts as they dont have hash browns and have tattie scones mmm.

Nah the menu only mentioned alcohol for the meals(Which were 4-7pm)
