I have cancelled my contract with 3 and i want the new iPhone but i dont think that you can transfer your number from pay as you go to contract so im going to go to T Mobile but do they charge to get your PAC code?

They are obliged to give it to you if you ask :)

It is free and valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Debs x

They can give it you over the phone, however sometimes they do say they will write to you with it, if you say ok then and give it about a day and call back and ask them if they can tell you it over the phone they should be able to...

If your going for the iPhone on O2 why do you need to do Pay as You go or T-Mobile??? Why not just give your porting code to O2 and get the number transferred straight to them???

When you get your PAC code your mobile number from 3 will not disconnect until your number moves onto O2. It is valid for 30 days, the new iPhone is out Friday next week so you wont be without your number.

I can imagine there will be a small delay in it connecting to O2 as O2's network and iTunes will be pretty busy as I imagine as the world and his mum buy a 3Gs!!
