Do you think the cinemas are a rip off charging this while the country's in recession or do you not care cos you sneak your own snacks in? lol

What's your stance on this?

+1.

It's amazing how they actually get away with it.

It's absolutely discusting!!!!

You now need a blimin mortgage to take your kids to the cinema (if you don't take your own goodies with you)!!

Yes they did look a little funny at me with a 9kg box of mini eggs under my arm!:giggle:

I dont usually eat things at the cinema...really REALLY annoys me when you get sat next to someone that just scoffs noisily all the way through....only thing I would eat there is ice cream.
I personally dont really see why people are so irritated by the price of food at a cinema....you go to watch a film not eat, the food is an option, if you dont like the price, dont get it...am I missing something here? lol
#5
Yeah, we always take our own stuff in.

although one couple we saw took it a bit too far - they had butties wrapped in silver foil !!! :giggle:

Yeah, sweets and popcorn

No way would i buy food or drink from a cinema, when we take the kids I always have my huge handbag crammed with drinks and sweets. If they sold them at regular prices I wouldnt have a problem but their mark-up is ridiculous.

I remember when my ex's kid saw the pick and mix at the cinema a couple years ago and we allowed him to buy some and I was just cracking up saying to my ex "watch when he takes it to the counter and realises he has to put at least half the stuff back because he doesn't have enough money" :giggle:

yes take my own snacks like crisp and choccy and drink but still have to get popcorn lol

Yeah, sweets and popcorn

lol...fair enough, but I think I can live without that :)
Also, I think it might have something to do with how I usually go for a meal before a film, that might be why the thought of all the sweets and popcorn dont generally appeal to me..:?

If it's just me and the missus, I don't mind. However when we go with the kiddies we'll take stuff with us.

If it's not bad enough that we sit through nearly 20 mins of adverts and trailers AND have to pay silly prices for tickets, they charge the earth for the refreshments too!

It's kinda part of goin to the cinema for the kids.
They like a drink and maybe some sweeties while watchin the film.
Just don't see why you should be ripped off SO much if you wnna do it!

Most people have a munch at the cinema and it feels strange being empty handed while everyone else is scoffing.

It was funny watching everyone taking out loads of snacks as soon as they sat down though, I even saw someone bring in loads of beer. :giggle:

Also, is it me or does everyone else fall asleep nearly evertime they go to the cinema ?

Rip off yes but then if there are mugs that are going to pay it then good luck to them. I always take my own stuff in for the kids other wise it would cost me £20 extra for drinks and popcorn for us and the kids when i can buy the same stuff for £3 down the road.

Jeeeeeeez my OH is the worst for that! The amount of times he has snored really loudly and I have had to keep digging him in the ribs! :x :-D

Of Course, the prices they want you to pay are shocking.

I always take my own stuff in. They rarely sell exactly what I want and it's always overpriced and you usually have to queue. Paying for the tickets is enough.

You could probably buy a bag of popcorn and a bottle of coke for 1/5th of the price from a normal shop.. it's not worth it at all even if the cinema popcorn is better, the coke at the cinema tastes worse though.

I don't go very often so normally when we go it's when I have a voucher for a restaurant close to the cinema so we go for a cheap dinner first and then buy 1 get 1 free cinema (orange wednesdays) :D

We always take our own snacks and drink.

Packet of snack a jacks popcorn and bottle of diet coke has far less calories... Saves room for the Ice Cream which I do buy there!

Yummy

I'd take my ice cream if I could!

Oh damn...there was an annoying guy sitting next to me....he kept shaking his popcorn every few mins and I felt like saying...do that again and you'll have to eat that off the other side of the cinema lol.

It was so distracting....I'm not Real Friendly Man anymore...am I? lol
