Strange as it is my beloved feathered friend refused to speak to my mate whilst she looked after him whilst we were on holiday for a fortnight, the last night he started speaking to her, when she worked out the time difference she realised it would of been when we were on the plane coming home.
Coincedence or did he somehow know?

Do you think animals that share a special bond with their owner are capable of having a sixth sense?

My cats do.....they stick around when I'm poorly and will sit and watch me, coming over for a cuddle every now and again. Although.......this could be them waiting for me to die and then they'll eat me.

My cat loves me, she follows me around the house and even if i open up the door for her to go outside she never leaves the back yard. She sits on the mat while i'm in the bath and even curls up with me at night. Often I wake up and she is lying on my chest puring loudly with a paw resting on my face.

I think it is possible to have an incredibly close bond with an animal. I think it is also possible for them to have a dislike of someone.
Its a belief of mine that in the next 50 years animals will be proved to be sentient and thinking beings and we may have to reconsider the whole meat issue. Yes I do eat meat.

My rabbit has a bond with our family. He pounces at anyone else.

I think animals do have a special bond with certain people, or I have just been the owner of 2 animals with some kind of mental health issues :p I had my dog from the last year of school, right up till I had to have him put to sleep 2 years ago and he disliked any boyfriend I had, wouldn't let anyone near me. Used to follow me around everywhere and sleep next to the bed on the floor.

Got a kitten 3 months ago and he's already a character. He follows me around the house, jumps on my lap for cuddles every night after the kids are in bed, he's always by the front door waiting to say hello when I get back and the funny thing is, if I'm in the bath, he jumps up on the edge of the bath and sits there waiting for me, occasionally eating some bubbles whilst he's waiting.

My cat was always vicious and nasty, and he especially fiercely disliked my ex boyfriend since he was a kitten, when I too eventually came to my senses and ended the relationship with the ex (not the cat!), he became tamer and more affectionate. When my current boyfriend came into our lives he changed the cat completely and now they are the best of friends. Animals can definitely sense things in people and I think they do form special bonds, even as far as 'approving' of a new partner for their owner! :-D

Our eldest cat was a nasty piece of work who rarely let us touch her and used to attack us if we got up to go to the loo at night (!! lol) but when I was pregnant she used to lie on my tummy and purrrr loads :) We had her spayed shortly after our lil one was born and she's still grumpy but no where near as vicious as she used to be  :)
